Ophelia gritted her teeth. Everyone was shocked. Erin, who arrived just in time, happened to hear these words and saw the expressions on the onlookers' faces. She immediately felt a wave of darkness before her eyes!

“Ophelia-!” she hurriedly spoke up, interrupting Ophelia’s words.

“Ah. Did Erin come?” Ophelia smiled coldly, her legs crossed as she sat in the chair, watching the woman approach hurriedly.

Bessie also came over, and she indignantly said, “Ophelia! My mom was so good to you, how could you say that about her!”

Ophelia rolled her eyes without hesitation and said, “What do you mean by speaking with a guilty conscience? I finally witnessed it today!”

Someone chuckled.

Ophelia lifted her eyelids and said, “Just tell me, which one of the things I said is not a fact! Is it false that you deliberately tried to ruin me? Is it false that you deceived me and took away the shares my mother left behind?”

Bessie’s face turned red. “What do you mean by wasting your upbringing? My mom was clearly good to you! And that share, it was obviously—”

“I don’t care about the process; I only care about the result!” Ophelia scoffed, interrupting her, “Just tell me if the result was as I said!”

She curled her lips into a mocking smile and said, “Is that what you call being good to me? That’s really laughable! You are her own daughter, and she treats you well. Why haven’t I seen her deliberately raise you to be useless? Why haven’t I seen her intentionally dress you in a strange way to embarrass you in front of others?”

Bessie was left speechless. Everyone’s gaze towards Erin became subtle. In the past, they had only heard about how bad Ophelia was, but now it seemed that things were not so simple!

Erin felt the scrutinizing gazes and almost bit her nails off. She suppressed her anger and forced out a reluctant, bitter smile. “Ophelia. I know I am your stepmother, and no matter how much I do, I could never earn your acknowledgment. I don’t expect anything in return, but after all these years of our relationship, how could you treat your uncle and grandmother like this?”

Ophelia: “What did I do to them? Are you referring to the matter of driving them out?”
