Chapter 93

Stella was somewhat dissatisfied. Ophelia, not wanting to pay attention to her, turned around to instruct the bodyguards to put her luggage in order, then went downstairs with them. Winford was still in the car, and Ophelia returned to the back seat, wanting to spend a little more time with him. However, several phone calls came in within two minutes.

Seeing him reject the call for the third time, Ophelia, fearing she might delay him from something important, quickly and understandingly said, โ€œHoney, Iโ€™m going upstairs. You can go back now. Iโ€™ll be home this weekend!โ€ She hugged him, got out of the car, and stood outside waving at him. The car started, and Winford looked at the girlโ€™s delicate and graceful figure through the car window. โ€œDid she ask?โ€

Graham knew what he was asking. โ€œYes.โ€ Through the rearview mirror, he saw the manโ€™s expression and hurriedly added, โ€œThe lady didnโ€™t care about Mr. Cullen; she was just curious. She said that compared to Mr. Cullen, Mr. Winford was just a pile of trash she wouldnโ€™t even glance at, even if she were blind!โ€

The carriage fell silent for two seconds. The suddenly dropped air pressure had just risen again. The man sat upright in the back seat, closed his eyes to rest, and appeared to be in a good mood. Graham let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Dormitory. Ophelia pushed the door open, and Stella had just come back from the balcony. As soon as he saw her, he asked, โ€œOphelia, who brought you here? Was the one who just took you to your dorm the owner of the car?โ€

Although Graham was just Winfordโ€™s assistant, he was handsome and had a strong presence, making him look unlike an ordinary person, leading to Stellaโ€™s misunderstanding. Noticing her probing intent, Ophelia replied coldly, โ€œEven if I told you, you wouldnโ€™t recognize them. Why ask so many questions?โ€ She turned around and went to pack her things.

Stella choked for a moment and couldnโ€™t help but say, โ€œOphelia, why do I feel like youโ€™ve changed so much? Itโ€™s just been one summer since we last met.โ€ She unhappily said, โ€œDo you think that because I came from an orphanage, I am not worthy of being friends with you, a young lady?โ€

In the past, whenever she said this, Ophelia was afraid of losing her only friend, and regardless of right or wrong, she would immediately lower her head and appease her. But this time, Ophelia couldnโ€™t be bothered to give her a glance. Seeing that she was completely absorbed in her own activities, as if she hadnโ€™t heard what she said, Stellaโ€™s expression became somewhat awkward.

But, thinking of one thing, she still took the initiative to bow her head and asked impatiently, โ€œBy the way, did you buy me the necklace?โ€ Although it was a question, her tone was certain, as she felt that Ophelia could not have failed to buy it for her.

โ€œNecklace?โ€ Ophelia thought for two seconds and finally remembered what she had said. A few days ago was Stellaโ€™s birthday, but because it was still a holiday at that time, she couldnโ€™t celebrate it with the other person. So, before the holiday, Stella asked her for a birthday gift in advance, agreeing to give it to her when school started. What she wanted was a necklace that cost five hundred thousand.

Thinking of this, a mocking smile curved at the corners of Opheliaโ€™s mouth. Indeed, everyone regarded her as a fool! Five hundred thousand was nothing to her, but it was something extraordinary for Stella, who came from an orphanage. But the other party just took it for granted and asked her for it.

Upon careful consideration, she and Stella had known each other since high school, and up until now, it seemed that they had given each other quite a lot of things. No wonder they had such a big appetite! A trace of coldness flashed in her eyes. She threw down the clothes she hadnโ€™t finished folding and turned around gracefully.

โ€œDid you want that necklace?โ€

Stella was vigilant. โ€œDidnโ€™t you promise me yourself?โ€ Her expression suddenly fell. โ€œYou didnโ€™t forget to buy it, did you?โ€

Ophelia crossed her arms and leaned her lower back against the edge of the table behind her, sizing up the other person with a smile that held an indescribable hint of mockery. โ€œDid you know how much that necklace was?โ€

Hearing her mention this, Stella felt a bit uncomfortable. โ€œI know, itโ€™s five hundred thousand, but thatโ€™s nothing for you!โ€ She spoke up with confidence again. โ€œArenโ€™t you even willing to part with this? Then I have to doubt whether you really considered me a friend!โ€
