Yasmine waited for Vespera at the practice range, dressed in a pastel yellow sports dress that accentuated her figure. Voluminous waves cascaded over her shoulders, creating an alluring blend of youthful charm and sophistication. Seeing Vespera, Yasmine sighed. “Ugh, you might as well wrap your whole neck up.”

Vespera smiled faintly. “I’m here for a job interview.” She saw nothing wrong with her sky-blue sportswear; it was clean and professional. “Vera, men are visual creatures,” Yasmine countered. “If Dominic just wanted a pretty secretary, the position wouldn’t still be open,” Vespera retorted, earning a playful poke from Yasmine. “Being beautiful and competent aren't mutually exclusive. Lucky for you, I have a spare outfit. We're about the same size.” Before Vespera could object, Yasmine dragged her into the fitting room. Feeling obligated, Vespera submitted. Emerging, she was transformed. A white sleeveless crop top and black pleated mini-skirt highlighted her figure, making her strikingly attractive.

“Oh my God—” Yasmine gasped dramatically. “Vespera, you’ve been hiding this? Luke is an idiot for not appreciating you! And Tina? What does she have that you don’t?” Vespera ignored the last comment, feeling uneasy in the revealing outfit. It felt like a deliberate attempt at seduction. “Yasmine, I don’t know if…” Yasmine silenced her. Answering a call, she said, “Hello, Mr. Clarke? You and Mr. Reid are already there? Great! We’ll be right over.” Vespera had no choice but to proceed.

On the way, Vespera asked, “Have you met Dominic before?” “Once, when I was six,” Yasmine replied. “My parents took me to the Reid family’s Christmas party. He was pale, chubby, and ridiculously cute. But he moved overseas when he was ten.” Vespera pictured a fluffy bun.

The golf cart rounded a corner, revealing a vast green expanse, a shimmering lake, and two men in sportswear. One was Alban Clarke; the other, impossibly handsome, was Dominic Reid. His features were breathtaking. Vespera's vision blurred. Beside her, Yasmine gasped. “Oh my God! He’s so tall and handsome! I’m swooning!”

“This is bad,” Vespera murmured.

“You too? Did you fall for him at first sight?” Yasmine asked, but Vespera's expression was far graver. The golf cart stopped. Alban waved them over, his eyes lingering on Vespera. Dominic's reaction was minimal; a flicker of surprise, then cold indifference.

Yasmine introduced Vespera: “This is my best friend, Vespera Gildon. She came to witness your brilliance, Mr. Reid.” Vespera smiled, though nervous. Alban chuckled. “So you had your sights set on Dominic? Ambitious.” Ignoring him, Vespera greeted Dominic formally: “Mr. Reid, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Her formal greeting was a mistake. Dominic’s unreadable gaze held hers. Vespera, maintaining composure, smiled wider, hoping he’d understand. His lips curved slightly. “You do look quite happy, Ms. Gildon.” The amusement in his voice surprised Yasmine and Alban. Yasmine’s look screamed, “See? I told you!” Vespera knew it was sarcasm. The game was on.

Dominic’s golf skills were exceptional, as were Alban’s. Yasmine and Vespera participated minimally. After the round, Yasmine strategically left Vespera alone with Dominic. Vespera offered him water; he placed it on the table.

“Ms. Gildon, we’re meeting for the first time, yet you went to all this trouble. Surely you're not just here to ask about my measurements?” Dominic asked, wiping his forehead.

Vespera thought, Two insults in one sentence. She replied, “Saying it’s our first meeting was a slip. Last time, I accidentally soiled your suit. As for meeting you, I heard you were looking for a secretary, Mr. Reid.”

Dominic stated flatly, “You’re not suitable.” He walked toward the woods. Vespera, her competitive spirit ignited, followed. A golf cart passed; Luke and Tina were inside. Luke’s gaze fixed on Vespera's figure, his brow furrowed.
