Chapter 207
Anastasia and her team had already moved into the conference room for the meeting.
After what just happened, Vincent now understood Griffin’s attitude toward Anastasia, so he backed off from giving her any more trouble.
As the team lead, Anastasia spoke with confidence and offered unique insights. In just a couple of hours, she and her team had an incredibly productive brainstorming session, and their design direction was already taking shape.
When she presented some of the initial concepts to Griffin, he was genuinely impressed. He glanced over at Cassian, who was staring at Anastasia with this totally lovesick expression. Griffin sneakily pulled out his phone, planning to capture this moment and send it to their group chat. Everyone would get a kick out of seeing their cold, emotionally unavailable friend completely whipped.
But the second Griffin’s phone appeared, Cassian’s head snapped toward him with laser focus.
Griffin laughed nervously and whispered, “Dude, you looked so cool just now, I couldn’t help wanting to get a pic.”
Cassian raised an eyebrow. He didn’t believe a single word Griffin was saying.
“Tell me the truth,” Cassian said coldly.
Griffin had no choice but to come clean. “You have no idea how obvious you were just now, staring at Anastasia like some kind of lovesick teenager. Thank God everyone else was focused on her presentation. Otherwise, your secret marriage would be front-page news.”
Cassian shot him a withering look. “Who says I don’t want them to know?”
Griffin almost choked on his own spit. He stared at Cassian in shock. “You…”
So it was Anastasia who wanted to keep the marriage secret! Well, that was a plot twist he hadn’t seen coming. This whole time, Griffin had assumed Cassian was keeping things quiet because Anastasia wasn’t from their social circle. Turns out this guy had been dying to go public, but Anastasia was the one putting on the brakes. What a sneaky bastard, pulling all these little stunts.
“Mr. Orlando, what do you think of this design direction?” Anastasia asked. She’d noticed that toward the end of her presentation, both Griffin and Cassian seemed distracted. She was starting to worry that maybe her designs weren’t good enough and Griffin wasn’t satisfied.
“I’m extremely impressed,” Griffin said genuinely.
