Chapter 33
Once they untied her, Anastasia gently flexed her numb wrists, her eyes scanning the abandoned warehouse for anything she could use as a weapon or an escape route.
Baldy cut through her thoughts with a warning: “Listen up, bitch. You better cooperate, or things are gonna get real ugly for you.”
Anastasia put on a helpless act, her voice trembling with fake submission. “Please, sir… I don’t know anything about this stuff. This would be my first time…”
Both kidnappers’ eyes lit up at that. Scarface suddenly pulled out his phone and switched on the camera. A cold dread washed over Anastasia. Her dark eyes went wide with horror. “What… what are you doing?”
“Sorry, sweetheart, but we’re getting paid to do a job here. Someone wants dirty pictures of you. Plus, we need insurance—can’t have you running to the cops the minute we’re done. That’d screw us over big time.”
“Please, I swear I won’t call the police! I promise—” Damn it. This had to be Valeria’s doing. That vindictive bitch! Was she trying to destroy her completely?
“That ain’t your call to make,” Baldy sneered. They started closing in on her. Anastasia braced herself for a fight to the death. She’d rather die than let these animals touch her.
Scarface reached eagerly for her shirt collar. Anastasia backed away as far as she could. Scarface grabbed her shirt and ripped it hard. The fabric tore with a sharp sound, exposing her pink bra strap and pale skin underneath. Scarface licked his lips at the sight. They’d really hit the jackpot this time—this chick was premium quality.
Her skin looked so smooth and soft. He couldn’t wait to get his hands on her. Baldy was practically drooling with excitement too. Anastasia’s eyes blazed red with fury, but cornered like this, she was helpless. She glared at them like a lioness ready to fight to the death. She wanted to kill them both.
Suddenly, Anastasia spotted a metal pipe in the corner. She backed toward it, planning to grab it and go down swinging. But Baldy noticed first. He kicked the pipe away and lunged at her with his filthy hands.
Just then—BANG! The metal door exploded inward, crashing to the ground in a cloud of dust. A tall figure stormed through the doorway—a man in a black suit, his stride powerful and determined.
When Anastasia saw Cassian, the tears she’d been holding back finally spilled over. He’d come for her. He’d actually come.
Cassian took in Anastasia’s torn clothes, his eyes turning deadly cold, sharp as a blade. He charged forward, kicking Baldy away from her and quickly pulling off his suit jacket to wrap around her shoulders. Anastasia’s eyes filled with tears as she clutched the jacket like a lifeline.
“Ana, are you hurt?” Cassian asked quietly, his voice shaking slightly.
Anastasia shook her head, gripping his shirt tightly. “I’m okay. Thank God you came, Cassian.”
A flash of tenderness crossed Cassian’s eyes before the ice-cold fury returned, radiating lethal intent. “You pieces of shit just signed your death warrant.” His gaze was dark and murderous. Like that wasn’t enough, he delivered several more brutal kicks to both kidnappers. The two men were completely stunned, sent flying across the warehouse floor before crashing down hard…
