Chapter 63
Valeria crashed into the bed, leaving her dizzy and scared shitless. She never could have imagined things would go this sideways. She’d only wanted to use Marre to lock with Anastasia, but now she was the one getting screwed over. What the actual hell! How did everything go so wrong? Valeria’s brain was completely scrambled. Where was Anastasia? Where had that bitch disappeared to? Wasn’t she supposed to be passed out cold?
But Valeria didn’t have time to figure it out as Marco lunged at her. Meanwhile, Anastasia coolly walked away from the disaster zone. Whitney had been watching the clock—enough time had passed. Marco should’ve sealed the deal by now. She scanned the crowd for Valeria but couldn’t spot her anywhere. Whatever—Whitney was worried that if she waited much longer, they’d be finished and she’d miss the big reveal.
Seeing everyone mingling around, Whitney spoke up with fake worry. “Has anyone seen Ana? That girl vanished. I wanted to give her something.”
Someone called out, “I think I saw Anastasia heading toward the hack wing earlier.”
“That’s weird. When I walked past there a few minutes ago, I heard some… noise. Hope everything’s okay,” another guest chimed in. Everyone started looking at each other and then drifted toward the hack area as a group. They eventually tracked the sounds to the guest room. Whitney’s pulse was racing with anticipation—soon that little bitch Anastasia would be totally destroyed. She put on her best shocked face. “What’s happening? Is Ana in there?”
The moans and other sounds coming from inside were making everyone super uncomfortable. Right then, Anastasia strolled up, looking completely normal, frowning slightly. “Mrs. Stone, you were looking for me? What’s going on?”
When Whitney saw Anastasia, she looked like she’d just seen a fucking ghost. “You… how are you out here? Weren’t you…” Whitney started to blurt something out but caught herself. What the hell was happening? Anastasia was supposed to be unconscious in that room! How was she just casually standing here?
Then who the hell was inside? This better not be what she was thinking.
“Mrs. Stone, if I shouldn’t be here, where exactly should I be? Someone accidentally spilled wine on my dress earlier, so I went upstairs to clean up. When I came back down, everyone was gathered here looking worried. Did something happen?”
Anastasia was playing innocent like a pro. Such bullshit! Anyone could see right through that act! Whitney was freaking out internally, her anxiety spiking. Especially since Valeria was nowhere to be seen—she had this horrible gut feeling that everything had gone to hell. Whitney was starting to realize they’d been totally played by Anastasia. This whole situation was spinning completely out of control.
Anastasia spoke up again with fake curiosity. “Wait, who’s in the guest room? It’s Grandma’s birthday party—what kind of trashy person would pull something this gross here?”
Everyone started murmuring and nodding in agreement. After dropping that bomb, Anastasia reached for the door handle and pushed the guest room door wide open…
