Joseph’s gaze shifted toward the clueless caretaker. As for her, he hadn’t quite figured her out yet. Whose side was she on? Who had sent her?

Once the others cleared out, only she remained in the room. Joseph, with no hesitation, started ordering her around.

“Since I’m being discharged this afternoon, go ahead and pack my things.”

She nodded quickly, signaling that she understood. She’d taken the money, so of course she’d finish the job. There was no room for delay now. The sooner this troublemaker left, the sooner she could move on to the next client–preferably someone sane. Just the thought made her feel like life might not be so bad after all.

“Yes, I’ll start packing right away,” she replied.

Joseph stepped into the bathroom and changed into fresh clothes. When he came out, his eyes landed again on the supplement bag on the floor. He frowned slightly and asked, “Where did this come from?”

The caretaker’s hands froze mid-fold as she was making the bed. She hadn’t expected him to actually bring it up. She’d originally planned to take it with her if he didn’t notice. Clearly, that wasn’t going to happen now.

“Those were dropped off by a really beautiful woman,” the caretaker answered honestly.

Joseph’s brows knitted. “What’s her name?”

The caretaker scratched her head, clearly confused, “I don’t know, sir. I asked, but she wouldn’t tell me. Just said it wasn’t important.”

She was a straightforward person, not the type to lie. And now that Joseph’s memory had returned, his expression alone was enough to intimidate her. He looked like a completely different man from before.

His frown deepened. “Do you remember what she looked like?”

The caretaker tilted her head, trying to recall the details. After a moment, she gave up. “I can’t really describe it. Just that she was stunning–breathtaking, like one of those fairies in legends. Tall, too.”

Joseph already had a suspicion, though he hadn’t confirmed it yet.

Then the caretaker added, “Oh, right! She had a very handsome man with her. Looked like her husband. They seemed really close.

“Honestly, the two of them together… they looked like they were made for each other.”

That single sentence confirmed everything in Joseph’s mind. It had to be Aurora and Lucas. But what were they doing here? Especially Aurora. She was the one who’d left him like this in the first place. Had she come to laugh at him now?

Joseph sneered coldly and glanced down at the supplements on the floor with a fresh wave of irritation. He tugged sharply at his tie, his voice turning icy. “Throw all of it away.”

The caretaker froze, standing motionless, as if it took her a second to process what he’d just said.
