Chapter 114
Lucas noticed something was off with Aurora, so when Hank left, he didnโt stop him. Right now, her well-being took priority.
โYou alright?โ he asked, leaning down slightly, his voice low with concern.
Aurora shook her head, trying to steady herself. โIโm fine. Maybe I just had a bit too much to drink.โ
She pushed his hand away and took a few steps forward, but her body swayed, and she nearly collapsed.
Thankfully, Lucas caught her just in time.
He could tell she was only trying to act tough.
Without another word, he scooped her into his arms, cradling her like a princess.
Caught off guard, Aurora let out a soft cry. โWhat are you doing?โ
โTaking you home, of course.โ
Lucas gently placed her into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt with care.
As he leaned in, he caught the strong scent of alcohol on her and noticed the warm flush on her cheeks.
Unable to resist, he lightly tapped the tip of her delicate nose.
โYou really are a little drunkard. Next time Iโm not around, youโre not allowed to drink like this.โ
Aurora let out a faint, dissatisfied whimper and turned her face away.
For some reason, being near Lucas made her feel an unexpected sense of peace.
She didnโt have to think too much.
All she needed to do was relax and let herself be taken home.
Seeing her like this, Lucas couldnโt help but let out a quiet chuckle.
He walked around the car and got in on the driverโs side, then pulled away from Grand Light Restaurant.
The only reason he happened to run into Aurora tonight was because heโd come here to discuss a business deal.
