Chapter 1149
Hearing that, Judy finally felt at ease staying there.
She was sketching designs in her room when the door suddenly swung open.
Judy turned and saw Wendy standing with her arms crossed, glancing around the room.
โUnbelievable. You couldnโt make it back home, so you came overseas to leech off my brother instead?โ
Judy frowned. โGet out. This is my room.โ
She had no patience for Wendy.
Wendy gave a cold laugh. โOpen your eyes. Whose room is this really? This is my brotherโs house. Youโre only a guest here. Try to remember your place.โ
Her tone was sharp, and toward someone like Judy, she showed no courtesy at all.
Judy sighed. She couldnโt exactly deny Wendyโs words. After all, it was Kennethโs home, and she was only staying temporarily.
But Wendy showing up so suddenly was something Judy hadnโt expected.
Kenneth had told her no one would be around at this time. So why was Wendy here?
โI may be a guest, but Iโve been upfront with your brother about it.โ
Judy stood up. โSo, barging into my room like thisโdonโt you think you owe me an explanation?โ
Wendy folded her arms tighter. โWhat a joke. I donโt owe you anything. This is my familyโs house. I came to see my brother. Do I need permission from some outsider like you?โ
Judy set down her sketch. โFair enough. But I am your brotherโs guest, and you just barged in unannounced. Do you really think thatโs appropriate? Is this how your family was raised?โ
Her voice was sharp, with no hint of politeness.
โIโm warning you, donโt push it,โ Wendy sneered. โThereโs nothing wrong with me coming to see my own brother. Watch your tone. And for the record, I came mainly to find out what woman has been distracting him all this time.โ
Kenneth hadnโt been coming home lately, always staying away.
Business back home had already stabilized, yet he still didnโt return to the estate.
And regarding his partnership with Lucas, he hadnโt given the family any explanation.
The family had been pressuring Wendy to find her brother and ask what was really going on.
She knew he owned a villa, but when she came to check, she hadnโt expected to find Judy there. The sight truly caught her off guard.
Hearing Wendyโs words, Judy found it laughable.
When had she become, in this womanโs mouth, some greedy, shameless parasite?
The truth was, she and Kenneth were in a mutually beneficial arrangementโpartners, each taking what they needed.
They were adults, and that much should be clear.
โIโll say it again. Your brother and I are just business partners.โ
Judy sat back down on the sofa. โWeโre all adults here, and you should understand what that means. Thereโs no need for me to spell it out. If you donโt believe me, you can ask your brother directly instead of questioning me here.โ
Wendy was only at the villa because she couldnโt reach Kenneth.
She never expected to find this woman instead.
Still, she would never admit that the only reason she came was because she couldnโt get hold of her brother any other way.
