Chapter 1157

She wasnโ€™t going to let a single one of her shares be taken away, nor would she let them all fall cheaply into Tessaโ€™s hands.

At that, Grace suddenly straightened in her seat.

โ€œIf you put it that way, then Iโ€™ll make myself clear in front of all these shareholders. The shares I promised you beforeโ€“Iโ€™m taking back half.โ€

Aurora didnโ€™t hesitate. โ€œFine.โ€

That outcome, losing half, was already more than enough for her.

Grace narrowed her eyes, surprised at how quickly Aurora agreed.

Could there be some trick behind this?

Even Tessa hadnโ€™t expected Aurora to be so decisive.

Seeing their reactions, Aurora could already guess what they thought of her.

But the truth was, she didnโ€™t care about any of it. As long as she had the portion that belonged to her, that was enough.

The restโ€“however Grace handled itโ€“had nothing to do with her.

Aurora spoke directly. โ€œNo matter what you think, I only want the part that belongs to me. From here on, I wonโ€™t interfere in company affairs.โ€

Her meaning couldnโ€™t have been clearerโ€“whatever problems might arise in the future would no longer have anything to do with her.

Everyone in the room was sharp enough to understand.

Grace wasnโ€™t a petty woman.

Since things had come to this, there was no reason to hold on any longer.

She turned to the others. โ€œYou all heard her. This was Auroraโ€™s decision. Even as her mother, I canโ€™t interfere. Sheโ€™s grown now, with her own mind. Iโ€™ll divide her shares as they should be divided.โ€

Then she gave her assurance. โ€œBut rest assured, your profits will not be reduced by even a fraction. Even without Aurora, Iโ€™ll groom others in management to take her place.โ€

Hearing this, Tessa felt a flicker of relief settle in her chest.

With Graceโ€™s words, it was clear she wouldnโ€™t be left out.

Since there was someone to take Auroraโ€™s place, Tessa felt reassured.

If it came down to it, she could be that person herselfโ€“why should Grace bother finding someone else?

She knew her chance had come.

Aurora nodded and gave Grace a serious thanks. โ€œItโ€™s alright, Madam Graceโ€“no, Mom. For you to do this much for me, Iโ€™m already grateful.โ€

She turned to the other directors. โ€œAnd please donโ€™t worry. I wonโ€™t be taking any of the companyโ€™s resources with me. Handle them however you like. From here on, my affairs are my own, and you neednโ€™t concern yourselves.โ€

With everything laid out openly, there was nothing more for her to hold back.

Grace nodded. โ€œVery well, then. I approve your resignation.โ€

Aurora bowed her head sincerely, then thanked her once more. โ€œMom, thank you for raising me and guiding me this far. From now on, I intend to find my own path.โ€

She followed with a respectful bow to the rest of the room.

The shareholders looked on, their hearts heavy.

With their golden goose walking away, their year-end bonuses would no doubt shrink, and no one knew who could possibly fill her place.

But Tessa felt no such regret.

If Aurora left, it meant she would finally have the chance to rise and involve herself in the companyโ€™s affairs.

As for her mother, one daughter gone was a loss sheโ€™d have to acceptโ€“whether she liked it or not.

Graceโ€™s eyes followed Auroraโ€™s departing figure.

Her steps were firm, her exit resolute, without the slightest hesitation.
