Megan stood to the side, watching Aurora and the old man talk endlessly, her curiosity nearly bursting. What on earth were they discussing?
Unable to hold back, she hurried over and plopped down beside Aurora with familiarity. โAurora, did you settle the courtyard?โ
โMhm, everythingโs fine.โ Aurora turned to the old man. โSir, when would you like to sign the contract? Iโm free anytime.โ
โAny time works for me. Since Iโve decided on you, no matter who else comes afterward, I wonโt change my mind.โ
The old man stroked his beard, looking every bit like a sage from another world.
Aurora understood perfectly.
โGood, then Iโll let the agent know and come back tomorrow,โ she suggested.
The old man nodded without hesitation.
โOf course, Iโll go by your time. After all, youโre the tenant. Finding the right person hasnโt been easy.โ
Aurora smiled. โSir, youโre teasing me. Youโre my fated one, too. I didnโt even need to look at the layoutโI already love this place, especially the garden and trees youโve tended so carefully. Anyone can see youโre a man of fortune.โ
The old man laughed heartily. โYou really do have a way with words, girl. Renting this house to you is no mistake. Seems my courtyard has finally found the owner it deserves.โ
Watching their easy exchange, Megan finally understood why the two of them had been chatting so happily just moments ago.
She hadnโt expected Aurora to share so much common ground with this old man.
Sheโd never noticed before how easily Aurora could connect with someone older.
Once they said their goodbyes and stepped out of the courtyard, Megan couldnโt hold back anymore. โAurora, impressive. I never realized you were such a natural at conversation.โ
โThereโs a lot you havenโt noticed,โ Aurora teased, tapping her nose.
Ian, meanwhile, felt a pang of something like wistfulness. But then he thought it throughโso long as it was Aurora, there was never anything to worry about.
โMiss Aurora, I didnโt expect you to secure this place so quickly. I thought it would take much longer,โ he admitted.
Ianโs head was still spinning. Ever since meeting Aurora, so many things seemed to fall neatly into place.
Aurora smiled softly. โIn the end, it was simply fate. From the layout to the care of the courtyard, I genuinely love everything about this place. Itโs exactly what I imagined for the studio."
โAnd it just so happens the old man wanted someone who would cherish his trees and flowers. Since we only plan to use it as a studio, it all fit together perfectly.โ
Hearing this, Ian and Megan could hardly believe it.
It almost felt as though the courtyard had been designed with Aurora in mind.
Now the three of them could finally relax and celebrate.
Suddenly, Aurora turned to Ian. โBy the way, you donโt need to keep acting like Iโm your general manager anymore.โ
Her words startled him.
Did this mean she didnโt want to keep him on? Why would she suddenly say something like that?
โMiss Aurora, did I do something wrong? You can tell me directly,โ Ian said nervously.
