Hearing those words, Grace laughed with delight. "My dear uncle, did you hear what he just said?"
"If you dare take one more step forward, I can promise you his life will be forfeit."
She tilted her head, her voice sharp. "But if you insist on spouting so much nonsense, Iโll simply let him go, and then Iโll have him come straight for you."
Cold sweat broke out down Ronaldโs back.
"Madwoman. You truly are a madwoman." His hand trembled as he pointed at her.
But Grace only laughed harder. "Of course, I am. You and the rest of you drove me mad."
It was only because they backed down that day, retreating in fear, that the elderโs life was spared. From that moment on, none of them dared to show her disrespect again.
Under her hand, the corporation not only regained its strength but even surpassed what it had been before. They had little choice but to keep quiet.
And yet now, with Grace acting in much the same way she had back then, the old men began to stir again.
If she could no longer bring them value, then why shouldnโt she step aside?
After all, she was getting old. What was the point of clinging to that seat of power any longer?
Ronald was certain of itโGrace was no longer the woman she once was. She couldnโt possibly still have the same strength.
And times had changed. Did she really think the side branches hadnโt built their own power in secret? That was impossible. They would never let her keep ruling alone.
If Aurora were still here, continuing to lead Walton Corporation to profit, they wouldnโt have raised a word of objection.
But now, with her gone and the company bleeding money, of course they would no longer remain silent.
That thought cleared Ronaldโs mind in an instant.
He steadied himself, no longer retreating, and signaled the others to hold back their movements as well.
โWhatโs the matter? Do you still think youโre the same person you were back then?โ
Ronald deliberately provoked her. โSo many years have passed. Weโre all old now, and none of us have the time to play your games.
โI advise you either step down from that position, or split up the shares in your hands.
โIf you insist on staying where you are, I canโt guarantee what we side branches might end up doing.โ
โOh? So, Uncle is trying to threaten me now?โ
Grace hadnโt expected that even at this point, the old man was still fixated on her seat and her shares.
โThreaten you? Not at all. Iโm only giving you the advice that best suits you.โ
As he spoke, Ronald deliberately revealed the side-branch supporters gathered behind himโa thinly veiled warning.
It was clear: Grace had only Jason by her side now.
If the two sides truly clashed, she wouldnโt stand a chance.
In the end, it would only lead to mutual destruction.
The side-branch group stood silently behind Ronald, making it obvious they were backing him fully.
Seeing this, Grace felt a chill in her heart.
After all these years, these leeches still showed no gratitude, and now they were standing with that old man against her.
What had all her hard work amounted to, then?
Grace drew a deep breath, then turned to Jason. โJason, did you get all of that recorded?โ
