Hearing that the Chairwoman was looking for Aurora, Joseph stood frozen on the spot, completely caught off guard. His eyes widened, mouth slightly agape, and his voice shot up in pitch, making him look rather ridiculous. “You’re the second heiress of the Walton family?”

Aurora raised an eyebrow and nodded without hesitation. “What, are you shocked?”

It was almost laughable. After three years together, he still had no idea who she really was.

The hall manager also looked at Joseph in surprise, wondering why this man was making such a fuss. Joseph’s overly loud voice had drawn attention, and soon the area became a small spectacle.

Thinking back to those three years with Aurora, Joseph remembered how plain her clothes had been, how she lived in a rented place until he couldn’t stand it anymore and let her move in with him. How could someone like that possibly be the rumored second heiress of the Walton family?

When he finally processed everything, his expression shifted from shock to disdain. “Aurora Walton, just because you share the same last name doesn’t mean anything. What, you brought in some extra actor just to play along? You think I’d fall for that?"

“This is ridiculous. I was with you for three years. I know who you really are.”

Aurora looked at him, utterly speechless. “Exactly. Being with you for three years was more than enough to see just how blind you are.”

“Slut! You’re impersonating the real younger heiress of the Walton family. Aren’t you afraid she’ll find out?” Joseph said righteously, “You can’t fool me. I’ve seen her before. She’s graceful and elegant, nothing like someone who clawed her way up by being a kept woman.”

Aurora and the hall manager exchanged a look, both equally confused. But it was clear from their expressions that they were both completely speechless.

“Enough, Joseph. If there’s something wrong with your eyes, go get them checked. I don’t have time to waste on you.” Aurora had no intention of wasting another word on him.

Seeing this, Joseph looked even more smug. “What, scared now that you know I’ve met the real younger heiress of the Walton family? Of course. She favors me, after all. And you, working at Walton Corporation, one word from me, and you’re fired.” He lifted his chin slightly, wearing a proud expression. “Aurora, if you apologize to me now, maybe I’ll consider forgiving you.”

“Lunatic.” Aurora rolled her eyes with effortless elegance, then scoffed, “Don’t speak too soon. I’m looking forward to the moment you embarrass yourself, clown.” With that, she turned and walked off with the hall manager.

Joseph was left standing alone. He let out a laugh. “Aurora Walton, look at you now–hiring some background actor? Absolutely pathetic! Wait till I meet the real younger heiress of the Walton family. I’ll expose you for impersonating someone else. How shameless!”

As Aurora and the hall manager left, he still looked a little confused. “Miss Walton, that man just now was…?”

“Nobody. Just a clown.”

Thinking of Joseph, Aurora felt slightly nauseated. He claimed to have met the younger heiress of the Walton family–whoever that person was— and she actually had the nerve to impersonate her. What was worse, that idiot Joseph even believed it. How ridiculous.

The hall manager nodded, catching on. He was clearly not someone worth paying attention to.

“No need to bother with him, Miss Walton. The Chairwoman is waiting for you in the room over there. Have a wonderful evening.” With that, he bowed slightly and stepped away.
