Chapter 1253
Lucas was a light sleeper. Just a few minutes after Aurora left, he woke as well.
Seeing the empty space beside him, he felt a fleeting sense of emptiness, only for it to be quickly replaced by joy.
Today was the opening of Auroraโs studio.
Of course she would go early. It was only natural. He couldnโt selfishly keep her at home.
When Lucas went downstairs, he was surprised to find that Aurora had prepared breakfast for him.
A warmth spread through his chest.
It was the first time he had ever tasted breakfast made by her.
Pulling out his phone, Lucas called Desmond.
The line connected almost immediately. Basic efficiency was expected.
โMr. Carter, what can I do for you?โ
โCancel all the noon meetings. Move everything to tomorrow. Any documents that can be signed online, send them over.โ
โUnderstood.โ
Though Desmond was surprised, he followed the order without question. After all, the presidentโs word was final.
Lucas didnโt say more. He ended the call, ate the simple breakfast, and worked through the documents Desmond sent over online.
When the time was right, he took his time heading toward Auroraโs studio.
When Aurora arrived, Ian and Megan were already there.
She looked at Megan in surprise. โYouโre here this early?โ
โEarly?โ Megan said with excitement. โI didnโt sleep a wink all night!โ
Aurora and Ian were speechless.
The two exchanged a glance, neither expecting Megan to be this excited.
Megan was practically bouncing, waving her hands as she spun around Aurora.
โOh my God, Aurora, I donโt even know how to describe what Iโm feeling right now. I never thought Iโd see the day Iโd have a studio of my own!โ
Aurora couldnโt help but laugh. โAlright, since weโve opened this studio, thereโll be plenty of firsts waiting for us in the future.โ
Meganโs eyes shone with anticipation.
โYouโre right. I need to calm down.โ
She took several deep breaths before lifting her face into a bright smile again.
Even Ian, behind his black-rimmed glasses, wore an expression filled with hope for what lay ahead.
Just as they were lost in thoughts of the future, a delivery man knocked at the door.
โExcuse me, is this Frost & Clear Studio?โ
Aurora stepped forward. โYes, thatโs right.โ
The delivery man let out a breath of relief.
โSomeone ordered flower stands for you, to congratulate you on your opening.โ
Megan craned her neck curiously. โWho is it? Who sent the flowers?โ
Ian figured it would be just one or two arrangements.
After all, Aurora had posted about the opening on social media, and theyโd all helped spread the word. It made sense that a few people would show up or send small gifts.
Aurora thought the same and answered casually, โJust leave them at the door.โ
The delivery man looked a little troubled. โLeaving them at the door wonโt work. Youโll probably need to line them from the entrance all the way into the courtyard.โ
The three of them stared at one another, puzzled.
How could a few flower stands not fit by the door?
Besides, they had already prepared some on their own for the opening.
Scratching his head, the delivery man explained, โThese flowersโฆ well, they could pretty much fill the entire street. The order was so big, it cleared out our shopโs entire stock of flower stands.โ
