“You may not enjoy it, but I love reading these comments.” Megan grew more animated as she went on.

Ian, watching from the side with envy, couldn’t resist leaning over to read along with Megan.

Aurora was speechless. She stared at their two heads bent together, completely at a loss for words, especially when those increasingly suggestive remarks lingered in her mind. Some even said she and Lucas looked perfect together.

Megan was enjoying herself but soon noticed Aurora’s face was flushed. Curious, she asked, “Aurora, why is your face suddenly so red?”

“Huh? Is it?” Aurora lifted a hand to her cheek and felt the heat. She quickly found an excuse. “Maybe it’s just the weather, a bit stuffy today.”

“I think the weather’s fine.” Megan glanced outside in puzzlement, noting it was barely over twenty degrees. But Aurora’s face was oddly flushed, completely different from before.

Megan suddenly seemed to realize something. With a teasing smile, she said, “Aurora, don’t tell me it’s because you saw those comments online about you and my cousin being such a perfect match?”

“Of course not, I didn’t think that at all!” Aurora immediately shot back, her voice raised. It was as if the secret she tried so hard to hide had been dragged into the light.

“Alright, alright.” Megan’s eyes twinkled with amusement. “If you say so. Why get so worked up?”

Aurora caught sight of Megan’s half-smiling gaze after she spoke, and embarrassment only deepened inside her. It felt as if the more she tried to deny it, the guiltier she seemed. She decided not to argue any further. She had realized no matter how she explained, Megan would never believe her. Megan always had her own way of thinking, her own logic she clung to, no matter what anyone said. In the end, Aurora gave up struggling.

Just then, as they were still discussing the online comments, a knock sounded at the studio door. Megan darted over excitedly. “I’ll get it!”

Aurora didn’t stop her.

“Mr. Lewis, what brings you here?” This time, Megan recognized the visitor right away.

Seeing her at the door, Daniel quickly forced a smile. “I came to discuss a collaboration with Aurora.”

Knowing Megan was Aurora’s close friend, Daniel was especially polite to her.
