Chapter 1294 +25 BONUS
She had thought finding the right employee would be simple. But now, after interviewing six or seven candidates, not one seemed suitable. Out of twelve people, was it really this hard to find just two?
If hiring only two felt like pulling teeth, what would happen later if she needed to expand the team further? That would be close to impossible.
Aurora let out a sigh. โNo matter how difficult, we still need to find the right people. Otherwise, bringing in the wrong ones will only make troubleโthereโll be a painful adjustment period, and weโll end up catering to their moods instead of focusing on the work.โ
Just picturing it gave her a headache. That was why she insisted on choosing carefully. It wasnโt about filling the seats with whoever was available. With the TV program coming up, she wouldnโt always have her phone at hand, and Ian alone would be overwhelmed. She owed it to him to be thorough now.
But Megan looked deflated. โWeโve already gone through six or seven, and none were right. I donโt see the last few being much better. What do we do if theyโre all the same?โ Her wide eyes searched Auroraโs face, almost pleading. โMaybe we should lower our standards a little?โ
The meaning behind her words was obvious, and Aurora understood. She calmly laid out the risks. โIf we leave and the new hires arenโt responsible, what happens to Ian then? Weโre not afraid of taking more timeโwe just want people whoโll actually care about this job. I want staff we can invest in for the long term, not ones whoโll half-do things.โ
Hearing this, Ian felt a wave of gratitude. Her words made it clearโshe was thinking of him.
Megan thought it over and realized Aurora was right. When both she and Aurora left, Ian alone would struggle to hold up the studio, especially with a new project underway. Even the most capable person couldnโt be everywhere at once.
Megan finally understood what Aurora meant and apologized earnestly. โIโm sorry, Aurora. I wasnโt thinking things through enough before. Iโll be more careful from now on. Youโre right, we canโt just leave Ian here alone. If we go off and have fun while heโs stuck with everything, wouldnโt that be far too cruel?โ
Aurora patted Meganโs shoulder, her expression warm. โAs long as you can see that, itโs more important than anything else.โ
Ian blinked quickly, hiding the wetness gathering in his eyes, and smoothly shifted the topic. โAlright, letโs look at the last few candidates. Who knows, maybe one of them will be the right fit.โ
Aurora let out a sigh, quiet enough that no one else could hear. Hopefully, he was rightโshe really didnโt want this dragging on any longer. Lately she was already stretched too thin. With the program ahead, she wouldnโt have the time to oversee everything at the studio. Leaving Ian to handle it all alone didnโt sit right with her. He wasnโt someone to be treated like a workhorse.
With a careless nod in his direction, Aurora signaled for the next candidate to come in.
