Right now, with her, it was as if Lucas held a free pass from punishment.

Aurora didn’t know any of this. All she felt was that Lucas‘ emotional intelligence had indeed improved a lot compared to before.

So, what if someone had been coaching him?

The fact that her man was willing to learn for her already put him ahead of countless men. Some men were hopelessly dense, and worse, they refused to learn, always making excuses.

What use was keeping someone like that around?

After dinner, they finally returned to the bedroom.

As soon as they lay down, Lucas pulled Aurora into his arms, the two of them fitting perfectly together. Only then did he feel utterly at peace, even letting out a comfortable sigh.

Aurora heard the sound above her and couldn’t help but laugh. “What is it?”

“I just feel, Rora, you’re really the best.” Lucas held her tightly, unwilling to let go.

Nestled in his arms, Aurora stayed quiet, though her smile grew deeper. She knew exactly what he meant. And in that moment, both of them understood without needing to say more–neither wanted to break the spell.

Lucas gazed at the ceiling, his arms locked around her, his heart filled to the brim. “Rora?”

His chest rose and fell as he spoke, the word lingering in a voice that was both sensual and tender.

Aurora answered softly, “Mm?” The sound escaped her lips without thought, almost a sigh. After a long day, she was already a little tired.

Just as she lifted her head, the next second, Lucas‘ lips pressed down on hers.

Aurora’s eyes flew wide open. In that instant, even her breath was stolen by him.

She felt she couldn’t quite breathe. Lucas gently pulled back and whispered against her ear, “Honey, breathe.”

Aurora’s face flushed scarlet. It struck her then–after making up with him, this man had only grown bolder! He hadn’t been like this before.

“Lucas, you’re going too far!” Aurora muttered under her breath.

But Lucas only let out a soft laugh. “And how exactly am I going too far?” As he spoke, his arms tightened gradually around her.

Aurora’s cheeks burned, and thank goodness the lights were off. Otherwise, her embarrassment would have been plain to see.

“I’m going to sleep. It’s too late,” she tried to change the subject, unwilling to argue with him further.

But Lucas refused to let go. Holding her in his arms, he felt an overwhelming sense of peace. He hadn’t slept well these past two nights, especially after Aurora decided to sleep alone. It left him uneasy. Sneaking into her room in the middle of the night, he had worried about being caught. Because of that, his sleep quality had been terrible.

Hearing Aurora say this, he stopped teasing her. He knew she had been working hard lately.

As drowsiness overtook him, Aurora suddenly lifted her head and asked, “So, the other night–you weren’t sleepwalking, were you? Did you sneak into my room on purpose?”

Lucas was speechless. After all this time, why was she suddenly bringing that up again?

Should he tell the truth, or not? For a moment, Lucas‘ heart twisted in hesitation.
