Aurora smiled softly. “Thank you, Mom. You’re beautiful too. The moment I saw you, I finally understood the meaning of beauty.”

Her words lit Diana up with joy, and she couldn’t resist showing off to Edward.

“See? This girl has such a sweet tongue. We should’ve had a daughter. Our son here—he doesn’t know how to talk, never tries to please me, only ever manages to make me angry.”

After a long pause, Lucas muttered with some irritation, “Didn’t I just bring you back a daughter-in-law you’re happy with?”

“Ha! You brat, still daring to talk back?”

Edward immediately joined his wife’s side. “Watch your tone with your mother.”

Lucas defended himself, “But it’s true. I brought you a daughter-in-law you’re both pleased with.”

Aurora gave an awkward laugh. Meeting the gaze of both Diana and Edward, she felt no fear at all. Their eyes held only appreciation, without the slightest trace of scrutiny or disapproval.

For the first time, Aurora felt completely at ease.

“Alright, enough standing around,” Diana said warmly, taking charge. “We didn’t know exactly what you liked to eat, so we asked Lucas about your tastes and made some simple home dishes. I hope you won’t mind.”

She patted Aurora’s hand gently.

“Of course not. How could I ever mind? I’ll always remember how you treat me,” Aurora replied quickly.

From the moment she had stepped inside, everything had been beyond her expectations.

She had braced herself for coldness or disapproval, but instead, they had welcomed her with warmth.

Thinking of this, Aurora suddenly lifted the gifts she had brought along.

“Mom, I wasn’t sure what you liked, so I compared a few brands at the store and bought you this set,” Aurora explained. “My own mom uses it too. It works really well.”

Diana glanced at the box and realized it was the full Soolan skincare set.

This particular brand was notoriously hard to get; money alone couldn’t guarantee it.

It had already made the rounds in high-society circles, and its effects were genuinely praised.

Many of her own friends were using it.

Thinking of that, Diana’s eyes warmed even more as she looked at Aurora.

“You’re so thoughtful. I really like what you’ve given me.”

“I’m glad you like it, Mom.” Aurora’s tone lifted with joy.

She could see that Diana’s delight wasn’t forced but came straight from the heart.

At that moment, Aurora finally relaxed completely.

She had never expected a powerful family to feel so harmonious.

Even Lucas’ parents were so gentle.

Lucas walked just behind them, side by side with his parents, his eyes brimming with barely hidden affection.

Edward gave a short snort. “I’m your father. You think you can hide things from me? If she weren’t the one you truly liked, no one could’ve forced you into this. I know your temperament better than anyone.”
