When Lucas came back and saw the look of relief on Aurora’s face, he smiled as well. “Aurora, did you already sort things out?”

“Of course!” Aurora wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. “It’s all thanks to you. Your advice really worked!”

Lucas’ eyes softened with a smile. “As long as it helped you, that’s all that matters.”

“Of course it did. It was your idea that made everything go so smoothly. Otherwise, I’d probably still be stuck overthinking it.” Aurora’s smile was bright and genuine.

But Lucas only smiled without saying a word, because he could tell he hadn’t actually done much. She just needed an outlet, and his words had only given her a little push.

He could see that Aurora genuinely wanted to mend her relationship with her mother. Every time she stood before Grace, there was always a faint trace of sorrow on her face.

It was obvious that, in those moments, she must have been thinking about her own mother–that was why that look appeared.
