Tessa was thinking it would be best to find somewhere more secluded.

Grace understood what Tessa meant and smiled. “Let’s go to the study. There are too many people around here.”

Hearing that, Lucas raised an eyebrow. He also found it a little odd, but when he met Grace’s half-smiling gaze, curiosity flickered in his eyes. What exactly were they up to?

This time, he was going along partly to see what Grace was planning.

“Mom, standing for too long is tiring. I’ll take a seat first,” he said with ease.

“Of course, no problem at all,” Grace replied with a polite smile. “Are you hungry or thirsty? I can have Tessa prepare something for you.”

Lucas responded without hesitation, “No need for that. Didn’t we just finish dinner? If there’s something you want to discuss, please say it directly. I still need to head back to be with Aurora.”

He said it so naturally that Grace couldn’t help but blush slightly.

She hadn’t expected young people nowadays to be so bold—even someone from a top-tier family like Lucas was no exception.
