Chapter 190

"I was misled by the wrong people before, but Iโ€™ve finally come to my senses. I came today to earn your forgiveness."

Their commotion at the entrance of the company had already drawn a crowd. People gathered all around, some not even knowing what was happening, but still clapping and cheering.

โ€œSay yes! Say yes!โ€

The chants grew louder, while the smile on Josephโ€™s face only deepened. In fact, many of those cheering were people heโ€™d hired to stir up the atmosphere. He refused to believe that, under this kind of public pressure, Aurora would still say no.

After all, this was the front of her company โ€“ if things got messy, it could even affect their stock. Wouldnโ€™t that be a total loss for her? That was what Joseph was banking on. He believed he had Aurora by the throat, using her companyโ€™s reputation as leverage. He was betting everything on the belief that she wouldnโ€™t embarrass him in front of so many people.

He knew her too well โ€“ timid, soft-hearted, and always afraid of upsetting others. With all these eyes watching, there was no way sheโ€™d dare reject him.

But in the very next second, Joseph was brutally proven wrong. And it wasnโ€™t just metaphorical.

Aurora didnโ€™t hesitate โ€“ she slapped him across the face hard. His head snapped to the side, the smile still frozen on his face, his expression now full of shock as he looked toward the hired extras in the crowd.

Wait, this wasnโ€™t how it was supposed to go.

โ€œAurora, are you seeking death?โ€ he snarled, lifting his hand to strike back.

But Aurora caught his wrist mid-air and gripped it tightly, locking him in place. The watching crowd gasped, all eyes turning toward them. Joseph felt a flicker of panic and embarrassment.

โ€œLet go of me! Aurora, what the hell are you trying to do?โ€

He kept his voice low, clearly worried the crowd might hear and his image would take a hit. But Aurora didnโ€™t care. โ€œShouldnโ€™t you be the one asking that?โ€

Joseph looked at her, confused. โ€œWhatโ€™s that supposed to mean?โ€

โ€œIt means you brought these extras here to block my way. What exactly do you want?โ€

With that, Aurora flung his hand aside. The force of it sent Joseph stumbling backward, nearly losing his balance. The people watching began to question whether theyโ€™d been rooting for the wrong person. After all, the woman clearly had a solid right arm.

Chapter 190.

Who wouldโ€™ve thought this tall man was all bark and no bite? Joseph clenched his jaw and held his right hand. โ€œYouโ€™ll regret this, Aurora. I canโ€™t believe youโ€™d treat me like this!โ€

This time, he was genuinely furious. So, what if she had someone powerful behind her? The Hunt family wasnโ€™t to be messed with either. Aurora let out a cold laugh.

"Youโ€™ve said that so many times already. If youโ€™ve really got something, then stop talking and do it.โ€

At her words, a flicker of darkness crossed Josephโ€™s eyes, but Aurora didnโ€™t catch it. She simply looked at his silence and felt nothing but disappointment. She had wasted three years on him โ€“ she shouldโ€™ve seen long ago what kind of man he really was.

What a complete waste of time. With that thought, Aurora turned around and walked straight into Walton Corporation. This time, no one stood in her way. The crowd โ€“ whether hired extras or genuine onlookers โ€“ fell silent as they watched Joseph standing there alone.

It was clear now: the two of them simply werenโ€™t meant to be. Something about him just didnโ€™t match up to a woman like her.

Joseph stared at Auroraโ€™s back as she walked away, his fists slowly curling tighter at his sides.
