Chapter 211
Aurora couldnโt help but find it amusing โ those two were something else.
After picking at a few bites of breakfast, she headed straight to Wallon Corporation.
On the drive over, her mind drifted back to the supplier issue.
Things were getting out of hand, and it couldnโt be delayed any longer.
She could afford to stall, but Vanguardโs project couldnโt wait.
It wasnโt just her name on the line; it was the result of everyoneโs hard work.
She pulled into the underground garage and made her way to the elevator, already planning how to smooth things over with the suppliers. That was her top priority now.
But the moment she stepped into her office, she realized things had taken a turn she didnโt expect.
Sheโd been planning to invite a few suppliers out for a proper sit-down, maybe over a meal, to clear the air and find a way forward.
Instead, what greeted her was a mess.
One after another, theyโd all cut her off โ her messages went unanswered, calls rang out or were blocked entirely.
Aurora stared at the string of exclamation marks on her screen, momentarily stunned.
Were they really going to burn bridges like this?
Not long ago, there was still room for negotiation.
She was just about to visit their offices herself โ this was business, after all, and ties didnโt just vanish cleanly overnight.
In such a small circle, people always crossed paths again. Severing things too bluntly wasnโt a good look for anyone.
Then came a sudden, urgent knock on the door. Her heart skipped a beat.
โCome in,โ she called out.
Her assistant rushed in, clutching a stack of A4 papers, panic written all over her face.
โMiss Walton, you need to see this. I donโt know what happened, but early this morning, several companies faxed us notices. Theyโre cutting ties for good.โ
She hesitated, then added, โEven their assistants blocked me. All of them. Itโs like they coordinated it.โ
Auroraโs face darkened.
The weight of it hit her all at once.
โSame here. Every single supplier cut me off โ no explanation, nothing.โ
Auroraโs expression darkened.
The more she pieced it together, the clearer it became this was no coincidence.
There had to be a hand behind the scenes pulling the strings.
So many issues blowing up at the exact same time? No way that was natural.
Her assistant grew more anxious.
โMiss Walton, what should we do now? If these suppliers back out for good, weโll have a hard time finding suitable replacements. Vanguardโs project might have to shut down completely.โ
Aurora pressed her lips into a tight line. She was fully aware of how serious this was.
That was exactly what made it all feel so wrong.
This wasnโt just bad luck. It felt personal, like someone was targeting her, and only her.
But who?
With the project already falling apart and all their contacts vanishing, everything was quickly spiraling into chaos.
Just then,
โKnock knock.โ
Both Aurora and her assistant turned toward the door.
A voice called out, โMiss Walton, Madam Grace wants to see you.โ
Auroraโs stomach tightened with irritation.
It was always the same thing with him: more talk, more finger-pointing.
โGot it,โ she replied flatly.
The messenger left without another word.
But when the assistant saw Aurora still hadnโt moved, she couldn't help but ask, โMiss Walton, arenโt you going?โ
Aurora shook her head.
โNo. Itโs just going to be the same conversation all over again. Whatโs the point? Iโd rather spend that time figuring out how to fix the actual problem.โ
The assistant paused, then nodded. That did make sense.
โThen whatโs the plan, Miss Walton?โ
