Chapter 227
Tessa didnโt miss the admiration flickering in Graceโs eyes.
She took a deep breath, forcing down the surge of bitterness rising inside her.
Then she turned her gaze to Aurora, determined to see just what kind of grand plan her oh-so-perfect sister had come up with.
After all, every shareholder in the room was watching.
Aurora gave a small nod to her assistant, signaling him to begin. He followed without hesitationโtheir coordination smooth and precise.
Aurora rose and walked to the front, stopping beside the whiteboard. With confidence and poise, she began outlining her proposal.
โFrom what Iโve observed, the domestic market is nearing saturation. That means itโs time for us to look beyond and think further ahead.โ
She moved one slender finger, flipping to the next slide in the presentation. The room followed her lead, their attention drawn into her rhythm. And soon enough, they began to understand the scale of her ambition.
โAs you can see, weโve already secured one of the major players in the domestic industryโVanguard. That project has elevated Walton Corporationโs visibility and reputation.โ She paused, letting the weight of that statement settle. โSo why not turn our focus outwardโtoward international markets?โ
Her words sent a stir through the room. A wave of murmurs broke out. Some were excited, others uneasy. Some thought Auroraโs idea was too bold and risky to be viable. But others found themselves agreeing. After all, she had managed to land Vanguard, hadnโt she? And everyone in the room knew the domestic market was indeed tapped out. That was no secret.
Standing before the crowd, Aurora remained calm and composed, undeterred by the buzzing voices around her.
โThis is a plot of land Iโve been eyeing overseas. If Walton invests and secures it, we could develop it into entertainment facilities, and the return on investment would be almost immediate,โ she said, pointing to the slide.
Graceโs eyes gleamed with approval, the admiration in her gaze growing even stronger. She couldnโt deny itโthis daughter of hers was carved from the same mold as she was. If nothing else, Grace had to admit that the bold and fearless drive Aurora had reminded her of herself.
Tessa, however, raised a skeptical voice. โBut we donโt have any real connections overseas. If we rush into buying this land, how do we even know if itโs worth it? What if we get scammed?โ
Aurora let out a faint, cold laugh. โIn business, the worst mistake is hesitating at every step. Those who accomplish great things donโt let the details paralyze them. They move forward, not backward.โ
Tessaโs expression soured at the retort. โSister, I understand what you mean, but we have to consider everyoneโs interests. We canโt just pursue personal ambition at the cost of the group.โ
Grace sat silently between the two. She didnโt speak, but she couldnโt deny that both daughters had their points.
Aurora didnโt hold back. โIf I only cared about myself, I wouldnโt be standing here, sharing this project with all of you. My point is clearโWalton Corporation canโt afford to be shortsighted. We have to look ahead.โ
Grace glanced around the room, meeting the eyes of the other executives. Most wore blank expressions. That one glance told her all she needed to know. They didnโt believe in the plan. Just as Tessa had said, they had no contacts abroad. Why would they risk their money on something so uncertain? People, after all, were inherently self-serving. No one would back a venture they didnโt feel confident in.
Finally, one of the senior board members raised a question. โWhatโs the feasibility of this project, Miss Walton? Have you done a thorough analysis?โ
