John’s face darkened. He slammed the pen down on the table and asked sharply, “Miss Walton, what exactly are you trying to do here? I’ve come all this way, and this is how you treat me? Where’s the sincerity? I came with every intention to work with you, and this is what I get?”

Being interrupted multiple times, especially in front of so many people, had genuinely bruised his pride. Earlier, seeing how many attendees knew him and treated him warmly, he felt confident that Walton Corporation was the right partner. But now, he was starting to doubt his judgment. After all, he hadn’t done a deep dive into everything yet. And now, these complications made him realize there were a lot of things he might’ve overlooked.

Aurora watched him lose his temper, fully understanding why he felt this way. She shot a sharp look at Tessa, then calmly turned to John and tried to soothe him. “Please don’t be too upset. I can explain everything to you. As for what this lady just said, I have proof to refute all of it. Everything she mentioned, those online rumors, was cleared up a long time ago. None of it ever gained any traction.”

“Is that so?” John said with clear dissatisfaction as he stared at her. “Miss Walton, I agreed to come because of you. I believed you were sincere, which is why I gave you this opportunity. But what about you?”

He raised his voice. “Let’s be clear, I’m not here for the Walton Corporation’s sake. There are plenty of companies lining up to work with LC.”

“I understand,” Aurora replied with a polite smile. She reassured him again and again that there would be no further interruptions or issues, and that no one would stir up trouble.

Only then did John finally pick up the pen again, signaling the official beginning of their collaboration. This marked the first time under Aurora’s leadership that Walton Corporation had officially stepped onto the international stage.

Meanwhile, Tessa, her mouth covered by security, let out muffled cries beside them. She stared at the scene, unwilling to accept it. Why? After everything she’d done—was John out of his mind to still go through with the deal? Weren’t there enough companies for him to choose from?

The guard covering Tessa’s mouth had never thought highly of her, so he made sure to press tightly, not letting a single sound escape. To make matters worse, he leaned in and added with a pointed murmur, “Wow, truly worthy of being our Walton heiress. The moment she signs, it’s a major deal for sure.”

“Exactly,” chimed in the other guard. “You have to wonder how some people’s brains work. They’re just not built like the rest of us.”

The two of them kept chatting as if she weren’t even there. Tessa nearly rolled her eyes back in fury. That wretched Aurora—wasn’t this all deliberate?

But Aurora acted like she didn’t see a thing and even purposely signaled the guards to keep Tessa restrained. Onlookers watching the scene couldn’t help but shake their heads internally. Clearly, neither of the Walton sisters was someone to be trifled with.

As the deal was finalized, the crowd erupted in applause for Aurora’s success.
