Early the next morning, Aurora strode confidently into Walton Corporationโ€™s headquarters, refreshed and ready.

Today, dressed in a sharp, tailored white suit, she looked stunning and radiated an air of fierce determination. Being forced out meant nothingโ€“Aurora would never suffer humiliation quietly.

Her high heels clicked firmly on the marble floor, each step echoing through the lobby, announcing her presence. Without hesitation, she headed straight for Chuckโ€™s office. No one dared block her path, not even the receptionist at the front desk.

With a loud bang, Aurora flung the office door open, startling Chuck, who sat casually sipping his coffee with his legs crossed. Seeing Aurora, a brief flicker of shock crossed Chuckโ€™s face before settling into a disdainful smirk.

โ€œOh? If it isnโ€™t Walton Corporationโ€™s former employee. What brings you back here?โ€ he sneered mockingly, his eyes filled with contempt.

Ignoring his insults, Aurora marched straight to his desk, slamming down a thick folder and a recording device with force. โ€œChuck Mills,โ€ she spoke icily, her gaze sharp as steel. โ€œThis should be enough to finish you off.โ€

Chuck lazily flipped through the documents, his face gradually paling as he saw the detailed evidenceโ€“the embezzlement records, the damning audio evidence of harassment. Any one of these could ruin him permanently.

Forcing composure, Chuck tried to laugh it off lightly. โ€œAurora, what exactly are you playing at here? Is this some sort of joke?โ€

Aurora scoffed coldly. โ€œA joke? Do I look like Iโ€™m joking, Chuck? I know every detail of your dirty deeds.โ€

Chuckโ€™s expression completely collapsed. He shot up from his chair, jabbing a finger toward Aurora as he shouted, โ€œYouโ€“you brat! Do you have any idea what youโ€™re doing? Youโ€™re playing with fire!โ€

โ€œPlaying with fire?โ€ Aurora met his glare fearlessly. โ€œI think we both know whoโ€™s playing with fire here.โ€

Chuckโ€™s bravado faltered, and he snapped angrily, โ€œDo you honestly think these little scraps of paper can take me down? Donโ€™t be naive! Iโ€™m protected by Tessa Walton herself. Touching me means going against her!โ€

Aurora laughed scornfully. โ€œTessa Walton? Youโ€™re overestimating her. She can hardly protect herself right now. How could she possibly protect you?โ€

Seeing that even Tessaโ€™s name couldnโ€™t intimidate Aurora, Chuck grew frantic. He pointed his finger right in Auroraโ€™s face, yelling, โ€œYouโ€™re just an ordinary college student. Do you seriously believe you can harm me? Even if you go public, Iโ€™ll just say everything was forged. You really think people will believe you?โ€

Auroraโ€™s gaze turned icy, her voice chillingly calm. โ€œFeel free to test that theory.โ€ She reached into her bag and threw a document onto Chuckโ€™s desk. โ€œHereโ€™s a formal notice from my lawyer. You have three days to submit your resignation letter, or Iโ€™ll see you in court.โ€

Chuck stared at the legal notice, his face turning pale then darkening in quick succession. He hadnโ€™t expected Aurora to actually follow through, much less hire a lawyer. Panic began to grip him, yet he forced out stubborn words. โ€œYouโ€“you think you can threaten me? Iโ€ฆโ€

โ€œThreaten you?โ€ Aurora interrupted him, a cold smile tugging at her lips. โ€œChuck, surely you donโ€™t think I came here just to ask for your resignation?โ€ Her eyes narrowed dangerously, like blades dipped in poison, piercing straight through Chuck. โ€œYouโ€™ll pay for everything youโ€™ve done. And about the confidential information youโ€™ve been leaking from Walton Corporationโ€“did you really think I wouldnโ€™t find out? I, Aurora Walton, am not someone you can easily cross.โ€

Meeting Auroraโ€™s chilling gaze, Chuck felt a shiver run down his spine. For the first time, he realized he might have finally kicked a hornetโ€™s nest.
