Chapter 301
She had no intention of staying with this kind of trash.
โYou donโt even see me as your brother-in-law anymore?โ
Sometimes, Julian found himself strange, too.
He wanted her to respect him, yet he also wanted to be with her.
This contradiction tormented him at times.
But right now, his goal was crystal clearโhe wanted Aurora to be with him.
Aurora let out a laugh. โDonโt you think what youโre saying is hilarious? You claim you like me, yet want me to treat you like my brother-in-law?โ
What kind of absurd logic was that?
Even Julian realized how contradictory he sounded.
But the words were already out; taking them back now would only make him look ridiculous.
โWhatever it is, my feelings for you are real.โ
His eyes darkened as he looked at her, hoping she would agree to be with him.
โThis is pathetic.โ
Now that Aurora understood what he was really after, she felt there was no point in wasting another second there.
Sheโd rather go talk with John York about the details of their projects.
Staying here was pointless.
She had no intention of lingering another moment.
โEnough, Iโm leaving. Donโt waste my time.โ
Aurora deeply regretted agreeing to have this meal with Julian in the first place.
What had she been thinking? This was a personal embarrassment sheโd rather erase.
Above all, it had been a complete waste of time.
As she stood, Julian panicked. โAurora, where are you going?โ
โNone of your business.โ
Without another word, Aurora opened the door and walked straight out.
Aurora stormed off with long, swift strides, clearly unwilling to waste even a second more in that place. Staying any longer wouldโve made her look downright foolish.
Julian clenched his fists, frustration simmering in his chest.
Heโd gone through so much just to get Aurora to agree to this dinner.
How could he let her walk away so easily?
And after this fiasco, there was no way sheโd ever agree to meet him again.
He couldnโt afford to let this chance slip away.
He rushed after her, calling out, โAurora, wait!โ
But the sound of his voice only made her walk faster, her steps sharp and determined.
Julianโs gaze darkened, and he picked up his pace.
In no time, they found themselves in the middle of the restaurantโs main hall.
Naturally, with the advantage of a manโs stride, Julian soon caught up to her.
โAurora, canโt you just give me a chance?โ
There was a note of pleading in his voice. โI really do like you. I donโt want to lose you. I asked you here today because I hoped youโd say yes to being with me.โ
โIโm married. You should know that.โ
Auroraโs patience was running dangerously thin.
Julian, however, smiled as if that detail meant nothing. โSo what? What can that pretty boy even offer you? Whatever it is, I can give you ten times more! The Hayes family might not be as big as the Waltons, but at least Iโm better than him. And Iโll treat you rightโno one would dare hurt you if youโre with me.โ
As his emotions surged, Julian stepped closer, reaching out to grab her wrist in what he clearly thought would be a romantic gesture.
But all Aurora felt was disgust.
A wave of discomfort rippled through her chest.
Strangely, when Julian insulted Lucas, it left a bitter taste in her heart.
Just as she was about to take a step back, a sharp female voice, edged with fury, cut through the air.
โWhat do you think youโre doing?โ
