She held Lucas’ hand and shared so many things she had kept to herself.

Lucas knew this couldn’t go on, but Kenneth had refused to answer any calls.

He sat up straight, looked at her seriously, and promised, “Rora, don’t worry. I’ll make sure Wendy moves out in a few days.

“It was careless of me. This was my fault.”

Seeing Lucas so sincere and willing to admit his mistake, warmth bloomed in Aurora’s chest.

Watching him apologize again and again, she couldn’t quite put her feelings into words, but she knew one thing for sure: she wasn’t mad at him anymore.

After everything they had been through, if she still couldn’t see that Wendy had been driving a wedge between them, then she had no business running Walton Corporation.

Now that the project had been resolved, Aurora was in high spirits.

“Alright, this isn’t all on you. Don’t carry everything by yourself,” she said, lifting a hand to gently tousle the soft hair on Lucas’s head.

Everyone knew Lucas never let anyone touch his head.

But this time, he said nothing. In fact, he even leaned in a little, as if inviting her touch.

Aurora found it incredibly satisfying, her hand resting on his head like she was petting a giant puppy.

How could he be this adorable?

“You really don’t blame me anymore?” Lucas asked seriously, his eyes blinking at her.

Aurora couldn’t help but laugh.

Still smiling, she answered just as seriously, “I already said I don’t blame you.”

The next second, she leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to the corner of his lips.

“Now do you believe me?”

Lucas’ eyes widened in shock. He hadn’t expected Aurora to be this forward today.

He was still stunned, not quite recovered from the surprise.

Aurora, on the other hand, flushed slightly after the kiss, but the very next moment, she straightened up and played it cool.

“Eat. What are you staring at me for?”

Lucas’ gaze darkened, and he reached out to pull her closer by the back of her head. “Rora, you’re going to light a fire and then walk away?”

“I wasn’t—mmph!”

Before she could finish, Lucas silenced her with a kiss, his handsome face filling her vision.

He went from passive to assertive in a heartbeat, taking full control.

Their lips met again and again, breaths mingling, each kiss steeped in the other’s presence.

Aurora’s hands, which had been resting against his chest, were soon pinned down as he held her so close it felt like two parched souls finally diving into the ocean.

In that moment, there was no one else in the world but them.

By the time Lucas finally let her go, Aurora felt like she could finally breathe again.
