Chapter 38

Inside the restaurant, Aurora and Lucasโ€™ dinner remained undisturbed by the commotion outside.

โ€œWhat are your thoughts on Vanguard Groupโ€™s hot spring resort project?โ€ Lucas asked casually, elegantly slicing his steak.

Aurora set down her fork, her expression turning serious.

โ€œVanguard Group plans to develop a high-end hot spring resort that combines wellness, leisure, and entertainment."

"Iโ€™ve drafted an initial concept that integrates modern architectural design with natural landscapes to create a space thatโ€™s both contemporary and Zen-inspired.โ€

Lucas raised an intrigued eyebrow. โ€œOh? Letโ€™s hear it.โ€

Aurora retrieved her tablet from her bag, pulled up her design proposal, and handed it to him while explaining her vision in detail.

Lucas skimmed through the concept as he listened to her analysis, his gaze filled with admiration.

He had to admit that Auroraโ€™s design philosophy was unique, and more importantly, it held strong commercial potential.

โ€œYour concept is creative and has great market appeal,โ€ he remarked, returning the tablet.

โ€œHowever, I suggest refining some details. For example, the hot spring areas could have more diverse themes, incorporating interactive experiences to make them more engaging."

"The spa section could partner with internationally renowned brands to enhance its prestige."

"The dining options should include signature dishes that highlight local flavors."

"As for the accommodations, adding smart technology features could significantly improve guest experience.โ€

Aurora listened intently, nodding as she absorbed his suggestions. She absentmindedly traced the edge of her tablet, momentarily lost in thought.

โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€ She looked up at him, her clear eyes filled with curiosity. โ€œWhy are you suddenly giving me advice?โ€

Her gaze held a flicker of doubt. โ€œAndโ€ฆ how do you know so much about Vanguardโ€™s project?โ€

Lucas swirled his wine glass slowly, his long fingers effortlessly elegant.

The soft glow of the restaurant lights reflected in his deep, enigmatic eyes, making them look even more unfathomable.

โ€œJust giving you a few pointers,โ€ he said nonchalantly.

He took a slow sip of wine before adding, โ€œVanguardโ€™s project wonโ€™t be easy to secure. If youโ€™re planning to use it as your way back into Walton Corporationโ€ฆโ€

He paused, his intense gaze locking onto hers.

โ€œYouโ€™re going to have to work a little harder.โ€

Aurora remained silent for a moment, absorbing Lucasโ€™ words.

He was rightโ€“securing the Vanguard Group project would be a formidable challenge.

Many companies were eyeing it hungrily, and if she wanted to claim it, the road ahead wouldnโ€™t be easy.

Taking a deep breath, she slipped her tablet back into her bag, her tone firm with resolve.

โ€œIโ€™ll do my best.โ€

Lucas watched her, amusement flickering in his gaze as he caught the stubborn determination on her face.

The corner of his lips curved subtly.

Setting down his wine glass, his voice dropped to a low, magnetic timbre. โ€œYou know, you look really good when youโ€™re serious about work.โ€

Auroraโ€™s cheeks flushed slightly. She instinctively turned her head away, avoiding his eyes.

Lucas chuckled softly and stood up, his tall frame looming over her, exuding an invisible sense of dominance.

โ€œIโ€™m just being honest,โ€ he murmured, leaning down ever so slightly, his warm breath brushing against her ear.

โ€œBut if you ever need helpโ€ฆ just ask me.โ€

Auroraโ€™s heart skipped a beat, her pulse quickening.

A sudden wave of heat rushed to her ears, making them burn.

Instinctively, she took a step back, putting some distance between them.

โ€œIโ€“I got it.โ€

Lucas smirked at her flustered reaction, the amusement in his eyes deepening.

Reaching out, he ruffled her hair lightly.

โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll stop teasing. Eat up.โ€

The golden afternoon sunlight filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting dappled shadows across the floor.

Later that day, Lucasโ€™ sleek black Maybach pulled up in front of Walton Corporationโ€™s headquarters, the carโ€™s air conditioning doing little to counter the lingering summer heat outside.

He turned off the engine and shifted slightly, his gaze resting on Aurora. His voice was calm, gentle.

โ€œWeโ€™re here.โ€
