Chapter 472

โ†’โœฆ

โ€œYou do take care of yourself, but your wrist is completely bareโ€”no accessories at all. And you always wear business attire every single day. You could switch it up once in a while! And alsoโ€ฆโ€

Under Auroraโ€™s stunned gaze, Lucy suddenly let out a dramatic cry, โ€œAnd how are you naturally this gorgeous?! You donโ€™t even have visible pores!โ€

โ€œYour skin is flawless. How is that even possible? Iโ€™m so jealous!โ€

Aurora couldnโ€™t help but burst out laughing. This girlโ€ฆ how had she never noticed how adorable she was?

โ€œWait, wait,โ€ Lucy blinked, finally realizing, โ€œWasnโ€™t I supposed to help you sort through those documents?โ€

Aurora waved her off. โ€œItโ€™s alright. Thank you all for the kind offer, I truly appreciate it. And thank everyone else for me too.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll have my assistant send you all tea later. As for the work, itโ€™s better I handle it myself.โ€

The mention of milk tea made Lucyโ€™s eyes sparkle like stars. Still, she looked a little concerned. โ€œOkay, but if anything comes up, promise youโ€™ll let us know right away? Weโ€™ll be right outside. Weโ€™ve got your back.โ€

Aurora gave her an โ€œOKโ€ gesture, then watched with a small smile as Lucy walked out the door. The moment she opened it, the whole department swarmed her, eager to know what happened. Aurora couldnโ€™t help the warm, indulgent smile that spread across her face. She shook her head lightly. This team was so warm and caring. People really were complex creatures.

Everyone started talking over one another:

โ€œLucy, howโ€™d it go?โ€

โ€œYeah, did she let us help?โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve got the skills and the staminaโ€“just give me a project, and I crush the deadline!โ€

It was the first time Lucy had been surrounded like this, and she blushed a little. โ€œNo, no, empty-handed. She didnโ€™t assign anything. But she did say sheโ€™d treat us to tea later.โ€

โ€œShe said she really appreciated it, but all she wants is for everyone to hold their posts and just do their best with whatโ€™s on their plate.โ€

At that, the group finally quieted down. With a boss like this, what more could they ask for?

โ€œAlright! I feel totally recharged for my life as a corporate workhorse!โ€

Others chimed in with the same enthusiasm. โ€œYeah! Weโ€™re getting tea soon!โ€

โ€œAnd itโ€™s on the bossโ€“how awesome is that!โ€

By the time Ian returned with lunch, he was immediately hit with the strange energy in the room. Everyone looked unusually cheerful, and it threw him off.

โ€œWhat happened? Why is everyone so hyped? Did something good happen?โ€

They glanced at him, the lone outsider whoโ€™d missed everything, and decided not to bother explaining.

โ€œOh, nothing. Just go bring Miss Walton her lunch.โ€

Everyone knew he had gone out to get food for Aurora. He looked back at the group, a little confused by all the odd smiles and glances, but didnโ€™t press it.

His priority right now was simpleโ€“make sure Aurora got a warm meal. After all, eating a good meal really was one of lifeโ€™s greatest joys. But when he walked into the office, he saw her still hammering away at the keyboard, fingers flying. He smiled and interrupted gently, โ€œMiss Walton, maybe pause the work for a second and eat something first?โ€

Without even looking up, Aurora replied, โ€œJust leave it there. Iโ€™ll eat in a bit.โ€

Ianโ€™s smile stiffened slightly. โ€œBut I went pretty far to get this. Miss Walton, you have to eat. This kind of food only tastes good when itโ€™s hot.โ€
