“You two know each other?”

Wendy looked at Judy in surprise. What were the odds? On their way to apologize to Aurora, they just happened to run into someone familiar. Judy narrowed her eyes, glancing between Kenneth and Wendy. “Is this your brother?”

Kenneth was just as confused. “Wendy, is she your friend? When did you two meet?”

It was baffling enough that Wendy would know someone like her—someone who refused money and just kept going in circles, wasting everyone’s time. Judy ignored Kenneth’s comment. After all, the way she met Wendy wasn’t exactly something to be proud of.

It was through Aurora. The two of them had clashed at first but somehow ended up as allies. With a common enemy, they could be considered half-friends. Still, it was an odd connection to explain. So, in front of Kenneth, Judy chose not to say much. It would’ve sounded too strange.

She cleared her throat, not as confrontational as before. “Where are you two heading in such a rush?”

After all, he’d just scratched her car. No normal driver would do something like that. It had to be because Kenneth was in too much of a hurry to notice.

“Alright, it’s a small matter. There’s no need to be so worked up.”

Judy frowned as she looked at Wendy. Something about her felt off. “If you have something to say, just say it from there. Why are you walking up to me?”

Wendy’s smile turned a little awkward, and she finally explained, “I just wanted to talk to you about something else.”

“Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with the car. I want to talk about Aurora.”

Judy froze at the mention of her name.

“Aurora?” She furrowed her brows. “I haven’t heard that name in a while. What about her?”

“Don’t you want to know why you haven’t heard anything?” Wendy asked with a smile.

Judy was puzzled by that. “I’ve just been busy with my own life. Why should I be in contact with her every day?”

Wendy’s expression stiffened slightly, but she continued, “Actually, she’s been hospitalized recently. That’s why she hasn’t appeared in public. And it’s been a while since there was any news. No one even knows if she’s awake yet.”

Judy’s eyes lit up at that. No wonder. She’d been wondering why Aurora had been so quiet lately—so she was sick? And from the way Wendy said it, it sounded like she might still be unconscious? Wasn’t that great news for her?

“Where did you hear that from? Are you sure it’s true?”

Wendy huffed in annoyance. “Of course it’s true. I was at the hospital myself. I saw Aurora with my own eyes, that’s why I said it.
