Chapter 663
Grace didnโt even pause her movements.
โItโs because of that incident, isnโt it?โ
Arnold nodded. โYes. Lately, when I pick her up from school, I can see those kids are intentionally excluding Miss Aurora. I know her character well. Sheโs not the kind to steal. And besides, itโs not like we couldnโt afford that watch ourselves.โ
Grace grew impatient listening to Arnoldโs ramble. She shut the folder in her hands. โAlright. If you think itโs the right thing to do, then handle it. I just took over the company, and thereโs a lot going on. You know how much pressure Iโm under.โ
At that, Arnold didnโt know what else to say. He could only follow his own judgment and take care of it himself. He wasnโt even sure if it was the best thing for the child, but at the very least, he knew she couldnโt stay in such a suffocating environment. She needed a change. Even a change of atmosphere would be good for her.
And Arnold had been rightโwhat he did was good for Auroraโs development. If he hadnโt noticed in time, she might have stayed at that school, slowly withdrawing more and more.
Later on, Aurora told Megan about everything. Without hesitation, Megan begged her parents to have them transferred to the same school. That tiny Megan hugged Aurora tightly, her chubby little hands patting her gently on the back. โItโs okay, Rora. Iโll always be with you. Letโs just ignore the people who made you sad. Theyโre just passing through.โ
Back then, little Megan had racked her brain to come up with the word โpassing through.โ Aurora looked at her serious face and couldnโt help but laugh.
Watching the two girls hug each other tightly, present-day Aurora felt a deep wave of emotion. She was so lucky. If not for Megan, she wouldโve never gotten through it all so quickly. Thankfully, Megan had always been by her side. Without her, Aurora had no idea how she wouldโve made it through those early years. Megan had been like a little angel, always showing up at just the right time, no matter what Aurora was facing. After all these years, Aurora was truly grateful for her.
A gentle softness appeared on Auroraโs face. Bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, she looked peaceful, almost serene. In that moment, the vitality within her began to take form, almost like it was radiating outward. The scene in front of her started to blur.
Aurora knew this part of the journeyโher elementary school yearโwas coming to an end. It was time to move on. What happened after, most already knew. She transferred to another school.
And Grace? She never once cleared her name. Never once stood up to say that Aurora hadnโt stolen that watch. So many years had passed, and Aurora had nearly forgotten the whole thing. If it werenโt for what was happening now, she wouldnโt have remembered at all. She didnโt even understand why this dream was so strange, and why it kept goingโso vivid and continuous.
At first, she had panicked. She worried about the world outside, about her body, about everything going on with Walton Corporation. But after reliving two of these memories, Aurora no longer felt so anxious. After all, these were her own real memories. What was there to be afraid of?
