Chapter 747

Listen to this chapter:

There really wasnโ€™t much she could do just by worrying. Nothing would change, and it was pointless.

โ€œI knowโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll just try calling her a few more times.โ€

Megan took their advice to heart and gave up on trying to run outside.

Still, she couldnโ€™t stop the fear gnawing at her for Aurora.

And Aurora, having seen everything now, finally let go of that lingering resentment in her heart.

She knew that there was no way Megan wouldโ€™ve abandoned her back then.

The weather outside was growing worse by the minute, and inside the auditorium, only five students remained, including Aurora.

After she finished a worksheet, she began to notice the others looking uneasy.

At first, she didnโ€™t think much of it.

But then, something started to feel wrong.

She had already finished an entire set of questionsโ€“so why hadnโ€™t Megan arrived yet?

Normally, she wouldโ€™ve been here by now.

They had agreed to meet here.

Megan would show up within the time it took to finish one worksheet.

Aurora had noticed that pattern a long time ago.

No matter how slow Megan was, she always appeared right after Aurora wrapped up a page.

But today was different.

Too much time had passed.

Still frowning, Aurora finally picked up her phone.

Maybe something had come up and Megan got held back.

But the moment she saw over twenty unread messages in her chat list, Aurora shot to her feet.

She hadnโ€™t thought much of it before, but now the sudden rush of realization hit her.

Something was wrong with the weather outside.

This wasnโ€™t just a typical storm warning.

The remaining four students in the hall were also growing visibly anxious.

โ€œWhat should we do? The weather outsideโ€™s so bad, I donโ€™t even dare leave.โ€

โ€œDo you think something serious is about to happen?โ€

โ€œI feel like somethingโ€™s not right either. How did the weather change so suddenly?โ€

โ€œExactly, and there hasnโ€™t even been any announcement about the Crestford professorโ€™s lecture being canceled.โ€

Chapter 747

The four of them had already huddled together, discussing what to do.

It wasnโ€™t until they noticed Aurora still standing off to the side that they realized someone else was still in the auditorium.

One of the students called out kindly, โ€œHey, come over here. The five of us should talk and figure out what to do. Should we stay here or try to head back to the dorm?โ€

Aurora didnโ€™t refuse, thinking it was better to stick together for now.

Being alone in a situation like this wouldnโ€™t help anyone.

And if this really was a natural disaster, then humans were far too small to fight against it.

Her chances of survival would be even slimmer.

Aurora stood beside her younger self, watching closely.

Her own face at this moment was unreadable.

She remembered clearlyโ€“her younger self had never actually joined the others.

In the end, theyโ€™d been separated because the disaster came far too fast.

Just as the younger Aurora was about to step forward, the ground suddenly split open with a deafening crack, tearing her away from the other four students.

Her eyes widened in shock as she forced herself to stay calm and think quickly about what to do next.

But nature gave her no timeโ€“there was no chance to change anything.
