Chapter 755

No matter what, at least she wasnโ€™t the only one talking to herself anymore.

The person on the other side seemed to pause, staying silent for a long while. The younger Aurora started to feel confused.

Why did he suddenly go quiet? Did something fall on him?

Or maybe he passed out from hunger?

That didnโ€™t make senseโ€“she hadnโ€™t heard any noise.

But the continued silence made Aurora grow anxious.

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Why arenโ€™t you saying anything? Are you okay over there?โ€

Sensing the urgency in her voice, the person finally replied, โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€

โ€œThe other threeโ€ฆ well, we got separated.โ€

โ€œI seeโ€ฆโ€ Auroraโ€™s tone carried a hint of pity and regret.

But soon, she realized she was actually quite lucky.

She had fallen from such a height and yet wasnโ€™t hurt.

Most of the debris had landed over the opening of the space she was in.

In a way, it had even created a shelter for her.

Stillโ€ฆ this place was far too dark, and the younger Aurora couldnโ€™t help but feel afraid.

At least now she had someone to talk to, and that fear slowly faded.

โ€œWhatโ€™s your name?โ€ The younger Aurora couldnโ€™t stop herself from asking.

If she didnโ€™t talk to the person on the other side, it really felt like she was the only one left in the world.

โ€œIโ€™ll tell you after we both make it out alive.โ€ The person paused, then gave that reply.

โ€œAlright then.โ€

In that space, as if to give herself a bit of courage, the younger Aurora took the initiative to tell him her name.

โ€œIโ€™m Aurora Walton, a sophomore at this school.โ€

This time, the reply came quickly. โ€œI know.โ€

โ€œYou know what?โ€

Now it was Aurora who didnโ€™t quite understand what he meant.

His words didnโ€™t seem to line up, and his responses felt oddly delayed.

But later, when Aurora admitted she was scared and worried about whether sheโ€™d make it out alive, his response caught her off guard.

โ€œDonโ€™t be afraid. At least weโ€™re not aloneโ€“weโ€™re here with each other.โ€

He paused, then carefully pushed a piece of chocolate through the crack in the debris.

โ€œHere. Eat it. Itโ€™ll help keep you going.โ€

Aurora froze.

She stared at the chocolate peeking through the gap, feeling warmth rise in her chest.

They hadnโ€™t even seen each otherโ€™s faces, and yet he was willing to share his chocolate with her?

In a place like this, when no one knew when or if theyโ€™d be rescued, even a single sip of water was preciousโ€“how could anyone so easily share what little they had?

In such a cramped and dangerous space, anything could be considered a treasure.

Aurora was hungry, but she could still hold out.

She asked first, โ€œYouโ€™re giving me your chocolate. Do you still have more for yourself?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll be fine. I still have some.โ€

The boy reached into his nearly empty pocket, lips pressed into a thin line, not saying much more.

He silently regretted not bringing more with him.

He didnโ€™t even know if that one piece would be enough to satisfy Aurora.

Hearing his reply, Aurora felt reassured.

โ€œAlright. But you have to be careful too. Watch the debris above youโ€“if anything starts falling, remember to dodge.โ€
