She had made the right betโJoseph really didnโt know about her menstrual cycle. If he did, he wouldnโt be acting like this now. Clearly, all that talk about liking her was nothing but empty words. Judy had always known he was a chauvinist at heart. But Joseph insisted on giving her something to help. With no other choice, Judy reluctantly accepted the forced affection he offered. Only after seeing her drink it did Joseph finally feel somewhat at ease. After finishing the drink, Judy finally brought up the real reason he had come. โJoseph, I actually have something to ask you today.โ
Joseph held her hand and nodded. โGo ahead, ask me anything. I wonโt hide a thing from you.โ
โAlright.โ Judy nodded and went straight to the point. โPreviously, you were going against Walton Corporation. Howโs the progress now?โ
Joseph quickly realized that Judy seemed to know everything, so he didnโt hold back. โIโve already secured that plot of land recently. Without Aurora getting in the way, things went really smoothly.โ
Judy felt a surge of joy. She hadnโt expected Joseph to actually pull it off. She had always seen him as nothing more than a spoiled rich kid, and the company his father gave him was nothing but a sidelined division. But if he kept up this momentum, thereโd be no problem making money in the future. With that thought, her attitude toward Joseph softened a little. โGood. Then make sure to take care of your health and watch out for anything coming from Walton Corporation."
Joseph nodded repeatedly. โDonโt worry. I know how to handle it.โ
The two of them stayed close together, but really, it was Joseph doing most of the talking. He held Judyโs fingers with full attention, the affection in his eyes nearly spilling over. Still feeling a little wronged, he said, โBut you changed the front door code without asking and telling me. I was really a bit upset about that.โ
Judy frowned. She hadnโt expected Joseph to still be hung up on that. She let out a deep breath and explained again, โDidnโt I tell you? It was because the cleaning lady wasnโt too familiar with the code. But sheโs efficient with her work, so I decided to leave it as it was."
Judy explained in a hurry, a little anxious as she spoke. She knew the reason didnโt sound convincing, but it was all she could say.
Joseph nodded. Though he still felt somewhat hurt, he said to her, โThen next time, just let me know first. After all, thatโs our home.โ
When Judy heard him say โour home,โ she opened her mouth, wanting to respond, but held back in the end. She had originally wanted to say that heโd already given her the house, so why was he still bringing it up? If heโd gifted it to her outright, how could it still be considered shared? But she didnโt say any of that. She had changed the code in the first place because she was afraid Joseph would catch her with Kenneth. There were times she and Kenneth went back directly to the villa, but now that Joseph had started going there again, that wasnโt an option anymore. Judy had no choice but to reassure him. โAlright, Iโll give you the new code later.โ
