Chapter 995
Brian looked at Judy, her face glowing with satisfaction. It was obvious she had just come out of an intimate encounter. They were all adults here; anyone with sense could figure it out. There was no need to say it out loud. If anything, saying too much would only make it sound annoying. Even so, Brian still didnโt know how to bring it up. After all, he was just Judyโs subordinate. But watching her go off to another country with that man, he couldnโt accept it without saying a word.
Judy saw Brian standing there, clearly hesitant, and her good mood instantly soured. Whatever goodwill sheโd once had toward him was quickly running out. โDo you have something to say?โ Judy spoke impatiently, โIf not, then step out. I still have things to deal with.โ
Brianโs eyes widened and he looked up sharply, clearly not expecting Judy to be so cold. Not long ago, she was still willing to talk to him. And now, she couldnโt even spare him a glance?
โMiss Judy, I do have something to say.โ Brian hesitated for a moment but still decided to speak up. He couldnโt bear to watch her throw herself away like this. This wasnโt the Judy he used to know. The reason he followed her in the first place was because she was bold, full of drive, and willing to take risks. She might not have been the smartest, but she had guts, and that meant she had a future worth betting on. But now, all she did was fall into a manโs embrace day after day. It felt like sheโd been seduced and blinded by some male temptress. Thinking of that, Brian sighed, looking visibly disheartened.
Seeing this, Judy lost the last of her patience. She waved her hand dismissively. โFrom the look of you, thereโs probably nothing important you need to say. Just go for now. Iโm tired too. Donโt disturb me anymore.โ
โNo!โ Before Judy could finish, Brian cut in with a sharp objection. The look in his eyes was full of frustration. Bloodshot and intense, he stared at her as if heโd been deeply wronged. Judy instinctively swallowed, her eyes flicking toward the door. It was shut tight. Clearly, Brian had other thoughts in mind. But what exactly those were, she didnโt dare assume.
โIf you have something to say, then say it calmly.โ Judy forced a small smile. โLook, weโre still in the studio. Youโve got a bright future ahead of youโthereโs no need to be this fixated.โ
But Brian took a step closer. He placed a hand over his heart and spoke with emotion. โMiss Judyโno, JudyโI really do like you. Canโt you see me? Iโve been by your side for so long, watching you grow from nothing to everything you are now. Thatโs why weโre the best partners, arenโt we?โ
Judyโs eyes widened. She had imagined many things, but she never expected Brian to actually have feelings for her. She had assumed it was just her own misunderstanding. But now, faced with Brianโs raw passion and grievance, she truly didnโt know how to respond. Judy gave an awkward, strained smile. โBrian, I think you really need to calm down.โ
โI am calm!โ Brian snapped loudly in reply. When it came to Judy, he had always responded to her without fail. Judy took a deep breath and reminded herself inwardly to stay composed.
