Chapter 45ย  The bedroom was a complete mess. Menโ€™s and womenโ€™s clothes were strewn all over the bed, a pair of smelly socks lay crumpled on the wooden floor, and used condoms overflowed from the trash can, with a few more lying next to the bed. Just like Nicole had mentioned, the guy was quite the powerhouse in that department! The chaotic scene was a testament to the coupleโ€™s wild antics.ย  โ€œAmanda, get out here, now!โ€ Chase was in a rage, kicking over the trash can and yanking the covers off the bed, leaving destruction inย  his wake.ย  โ€œChase, whatโ€™s gotten into you?โ€ Nicole rushed in, her hand over her mouth, shocked by the wreckage โ€œOh my God, what did Amanda get up to in Cloudville?โ€ย  Chaseโ€™s eyes were blazing red as if he wanted to tear me to pieces. The commotion caught the attention of the neighbors. One, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth and an accent from out of town, remarked, โ€œAre you looking for that couple? They left last night with their luggage, talking about chasing freedom or some nonsense. Who knows where they went.โ€ย  egave Chase, looking sharp in his suit, a scrutinizing look. โ€œAnd who might you be?โ€ย  Chase grabbed the manโ€™s collar, demanding, โ€œWhatโ€™s the womanโ€™s name?โ€ย  โ€œName? I donโ€™t know for sure. Folks just called her Ms. Kennedy. Are you a friend of hers? Honestly, she was quite the wild one. She and her boyfriend were always loud. You could hear them three floors up.โ€ย  โ€œBam!โ€ Chaseโ€™s fist connected with the manโ€™s face.ย  Wellโ€ฆ He had some brains, but clearly not enough. He heard the last name Kennedy and assumed it was me, ignoring my obsession with cleanliness. How could I let a room get that messy? Once someone blind and ignorant decides on something, their brain might as well just be a decoration,ย  Seething with rage, Chase ordered his assistant, โ€œI donโ€™t care how you do it, dig up the entire ground if you need to, but find Amandaย  I was squatting under an old tree in the yard, counting ants. โ€œYou canโ€™t find me now. My skinโ€™s been peeled, and bones ground to dust wonder if my flesh was turned into sausages or dried into jerky.โ€ย  The assistant, not hearing my sarcasm, quickly replied, โ€œYes, sirโ€ย  Gripping the doorframe, Chase looked out at the peaceful courtyard, eyes filled with pain. โ€œAmanda, I treated you well. Why did you do this to me!โ€ย  โ€˜Chase, donโ€™t be upset, Amanda, sheโ€ฆย  er true nature until now.โ€ย  โ€œDonโ€™t defend her. Sheโ€™s a floozy at heart. Itโ€™s my fault for being blind to herย  I couldnโ€™t be bothered to argue. I was just curious about how he would feel when he finally leamed the truth. He stormed off home with Nicole. Meanwhile, a video of someone who looked a lot like me dancing suggestively hit the trending list.ย  It wasnโ€™t hard to imagine the gossip, but I was already dead. Who cared? The Kennedy family was furious when they found out about the Cloudville escapade.ย  My mother slammed her hand on the table. โ€œIโ€™ve always said that girl was trouble, and now sheโ€™s embarrassed us this badly. How will others perceive the Kennedy family?โ€ย  โ€œMy mom wasย  s even thinking of secretly giving her the shares. Does Amanda deserve them? I think we should leave the shares to Nicole as her dowry.โ€ย  โ€œChase, weโ€™re truly sorry for raising such a daughter. We understand if you want a divorce.โ€ย  โ€œIndeed, itโ€™s fortunate there are no kids involved. This divorce would beโ€ฆโ€ย  Chase looked up, his eyes still bloodshot, staring at my mother, โ€œI wonโ€™t divorce her!โ€ย  My mother flinched at Chaseโ€™s terrifying demeanor.ย  Nicole, holding his arm, said, โ€œChase, Amanda has already betrayed you. Continuing like this will make you a laughingstock. Mom and Dad are just worried about you. A divorce is better for both you and Amanda.โ€ย
