Chapter 126
“What? Peggy has been kidnapped?”
Cameron sat upright in bed, startled by Lena’s urgent tone on the phone.
“Who did it?”
“It’s most likely the same group that attacked Ms. Jones this afternoon,” Lena explained. “The one who kidnapped Peggy appears to be their leader. I discovered this through a tracker I planted on her before she left this afternoon.”
Lena had given Peggy a mini tracker to keep in her bag for emergencies. She hadn’t expected it to be used so soon. In the dead of night, Peggy was abducted from the hotel and taken to the suburbs—a clear sign of kidnapping.
“So, he’s already made his move,” Cameron murmured, his eyes narrowing, a trace of coldness flickering behind them. He’d been considering ways to lure the man out, but now the man had revealed himself. He seemed to have a death wish.
“Where is he now?” Cameron asked in a deep voice.
“He’s moving toward an abandoned factory in the suburbs,” Lena said, watching the red dot on her phone’s tracking signal. “The signal has stopped!”
“Alright, send me the location. I’m heading there now,” Cameron said.
“Okay. I’m also on my way. Remember, Peggy is with them. Be careful not to startle them. It’s best if you go alone,” Lena cautioned. Too many people might alert the kidnappers, endangering Peggy.
“Understood,” Cameron replied. He thought Lena, though not exceptionally bright in other areas, showed absolute professionalism when dealing with criminals.
The two set out for the suburbs.
Meanwhile, a dim light illuminated the second floor of a dilapidated factory. Jeff Hancock, a man in a gray vest and black cap, stood in the middle of the factory floor, arranging cold surgical tools on a table: syringes, scalpels, scissors, sutures, and even a sharp saw.
Unconscious Peggy was tied to a concrete pillar behind him. The sound of the tools, or perhaps the wearing off of a drug, stirred her. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes to a blurry scene.
Peggy shook her head, her vision gradually focusing. She recognized the man who had kidnapped her from the convenience store. Her gaze trembled. She struggled, but realized she was tied to the pillar. Her surroundings were unfamiliar—an abandoned factory.
“Ms. Lee, you’re awake,” Jeff said, noticing her movements and turning to face her.
“Who exactly are you?” Peggy asked, her gaze trembling with terror. Jeff’s cap hid his face from view.
Jeff didn’t answer. Instead, he gave her a sinister, lustful smile.
“What do you want from me?” Peggy’s voice quivered, her pale face revealing her intense fear at the sight of the surgical tools.
“What do I want? I want to turn you into my perfect piece of art,” Jeff said, his smile widening under her terrified gaze. He slowly approached her, his eyes intensely scanning her black-stockinged legs.
“Stay away from me!” Peggy screamed, her body shuddering uncontrollably. The more she shivered, the more excited he seemed to become. He licked his lips and, under her horrified gaze, deeply inhaled near her legs, his expression one of extreme lust.
