Chapter 128
Peggy screamed as her blouse tore open, exposing her. Terror flooded her face. Jeff licked his lips, a predatory gleam in his eyes, and slowly reached for her remaining buttons.
"Please, no!"
Peggy's face paled further as she shook her head desperately. Her pleas only seemed to excite Jeff, his gaze burning with intensity. He was determined to possess her.
As Jeff's hand drew closer, Peggy closed her eyes in anguish. She braced herself for the worst.
"Freeze! Put your hands up!"
A stern female voice echoed from the factory floor's stairway. The vast emptiness of the building amplified the command. Jeff halted. Peggy opened her eyes and saw Lena, relief and gratitude washing over her. She remembered the mini tracker Lena had given her and Laura. She'd dismissed it then, casually pocketing it. Now, it had saved her life. Lena's presence instilled a surge of hope.
"Raise your hands, or I'll shoot!" Lena commanded, noticing Jeff's hesitation.
Jeff smirked sinisterly, ignoring her threat. He slowly turned, his gaze raking over Lena's figure with unabashed appraisal, from the curves hidden beneath her camouflage uniform to her slender legs. He considered this his lucky day—two exceptional women, one a military officer. He'd never been with a female officer before.
Lena couldn't see Jeff's face clearly, but she felt intensely uncomfortable under his leering gaze. She repeated her command coldly.
"Heh. Colonel Bailey, I've heard a lot about you," Jeff sneered, showing no intention of surrendering.
Lena frowned and fired a warning shot at Jeff's leg.
Anticipating her move, Jeff quickly used Peggy as a shield, pressing a sharp scalpel to her throat. Lena's eyes widened in shock at his agility, mirroring her own. The situation was rapidly deteriorating.
"Heh," Jeff taunted, looking up at Lena with amusement. "What's your next move, Colonel Bailey?"
Lena clenched her teeth, at a loss. Shooting risked harming Peggy.
Before she could formulate a plan, Jeff's hoarse voice, laced with malice and excitement, cut through the tension.
"I'm surprised you found this place, Colonel Bailey. But since you're here, I'll take this opportunity to avenge my fallen men. If you want this woman to live, put down your gun and eat this," he demanded, producing a red pill.
Lena's gaze flickered with uncertainty.
"What is that?" she asked.
"Something to get you excited," Jeff said, his eyes fixed on Lena with a heated stare, his tongue darting across his lips. "I intended it for this woman, but now, Colonel Bailey, the honor is all yours."
