Chapter 188

"Tara, what brings you here?" Lena asked, surprised by the woman's sudden arrival. She'd thought Tara had a surgery scheduled soon.

Tara chuckled. "Just kidding. I'm here to check on the patient's condition. Opportunities for medical research like this are rare."

She approached Cameron, saying, "Hey, handsome, let's see what's under the covers. Let me check your wound."

The corners of Cameron's mouth twitched. He finally met the friend Lena had mentioned. Standing at five feet four inches tall, with thin eyebrows and narrow eyes, Tara wore a white coat and black-framed glasses. She exuded maturity and elegance; her figure was slender and perfectly proportioned.

As Cameron sized her up, Tara appraised him, seeing a subject for medical research. With a seductive smile, she said, "Hey, handsome, I might blush if you keep staring at me like that."

Cameron was dumbfounded, feeling as if he were about to be devoured.

Lena shook her head. "Tara, could you please be mindful of your image? You're the lead surgeon and vice director, after all!" She knew exactly how her friend would react to Cameron.

"Image? I can't keep up appearances in front of a handsome guy like him, right, handsome?" Tara said, her gaze fixed on Cameron. "How about this—tonight, why don't you and I go to the lab alone and have a good discussion about life?"

Cameron's mouth twitched. This woman truly intended to dissect him for research.

"Don't be nervous, handsome," Tara said. "Your heroic deeds have already spread throughout our hospital. Is my charm not enough to captivate you? That's truly heartbreaking." She sighed, a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Um Can I file a complaint?" Cameron asked.

Chapter 156

Cameron raised his hand.

"Of course not, handsome," Tara replied with a smile, gently lowering his hand. In their brief contact, Cameron felt her smooth skin, causing goosebumps.

"Why are you getting goosebumps, handsome? Feeling shy?" Tara asked playfully. "It looks like I still have some allure for you. How about tonight—"

"Stop, stop, stop!" Lena intervened, pulling Tara behind a folding screen. "What's wrong, Lena? I was having a nice chat with that handsome guy. Why did you suddenly pull me away?" Tara asked, puzzled.

Lena shook her head in exasperation. "Tara, please be more reserved. Don't be fooled by his harmless appearance. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. You need to keep at least this far away from him," she said, extending her hands to emphasize the distance.

"But Lena, I don't think he's bad at all, and he's an important research subject for me," Tara replied, her interest undiminished.

"You're too naive. You don't understand how men can be. Be careful not to get too involved in your research and become entangled," Lena warned.

"Don't worry, that won't happen. You know I'm not interested in men," Tara said confidently, tossing her hair. A trace of indifference flashed across her eyes.

Lena sighed. "Alright, I won't persuade you anymore. Just be careful."

"Understood!" Tara smiled, emerging from behind the screen and walking toward Cameron. "Sorry to keep you waiting, handsome. Let's lift your shirt and examine your wound."
