Chapter 2
Cameron wasn't shocked by the grand display before him.
"Greetings, Mr. Morgan!" they all said.
Cameron nodded, hummed in assent, and entered one of the cars, simultaneously answering a call on his phone.
"Sir!" a man said respectfully.
"Blackheart," Cameron replied gently.
"Welcome back, sir! While you were gone, I kept all two hundred billion dollars' worth of assets from your 150 companies safe and sound. I'll transfer them back to you now that you're here."
"No rush. You know I've enjoyed a slower pace these past five years."
"That woman dragged you down," Blackheart said coldly. "Should I bankrupt her company, sir?"
That woman's company wouldn't have thrived without Cameron's guidance. How else would she have become one of Yrando's top ten businesspeople? The ungrateful woman!
"No need. Leave her be," Cameron said lightly. There was no need for harshness; they were married, after all. Besides, seeing her true nature had extinguished his feelings. They were going their separate ways.
"Yes, sir!" Blackheart responded firmly. "Do you plan to remain in Yrando, sir?"
"Mhm. Haven't decided where else to go yet."
"Then I'll hand over your five Yrando companies."
"You sly bastard…" Cameron chuckled, shaking his head. "Alright. Give them to me."
"Yes, sir. Including the hotel, you have five companies here. Darth Holdings, with a net worth of thirty billion dollars, tops the list, far exceeding the second-place company."
Cameron's eyes glinted. "Darth Holdings? I'll go there first." It was his first company, holding a special place in his heart.
"When do you plan to go, sir?"
"Around 3:00 p.m."
"I'll notify Mr. Kane and have him wait at the office entrance at 3:00 p.m. sharp!"
"Alright." Cameron hung up.
He shook his head, thinking how Blackheart remained as dedicated as ever. Five years had passed quickly. He'd almost given up everything for Madison, though she knew nothing of his sacrifices. He didn't regret it, though. It all stemmed from a plainly dressed young girl who, fifteen years ago, had given him the only piece of bread she had. He'd been ostracized by his family due to illness and was roaming the streets. She'd told him life was sweet. Her caretaker quickly took her away, but she left behind a pink hair bow. Cameron picked it up, vowing to remember her words. A mysterious old man then took him in, curing his illness and teaching him everything he knew, launching him to the top. He'd received numerous proposals and love letters from royal families in recent years but refused them all. He only had eyes for that girl. Five years ago, he found her—Madison Parker, then a mere company employee. He gave up everything to be with her. He never told her why. Who knew things would end like this? He'd kept the hair bow all these years in a wooden box in their bedroom closet. He hadn't brought it this time; his attachment was gone. Madison would soon find the bow and the love letters. He'd let her misunderstand him; they were divorced. They wouldn't see each other much. He didn't plan to stay in Yrando for more than a week; he had more pressing matters.
"Drive around Yrando before we go to the company," Cameron instructed the driver.
"Yes, Mr. Morgan!"
The Maybachs swiftly departed, stunning the villa's security detail. Who was powerful enough to warrant such a display?
Meanwhile, Madison received a call from her mother while cleaning.
"What is it, Mom?"
"How's the divorce from Cameron going?"
"Smoothly, Mom."
"He didn't take any money?"
"Don't worry. No way would I let him take a cent!" Madison scoffed. He'd used their resources freely for years; he could forget about divorce compensation!
"Good. How are things with Mr. Price?"
"Great, Mom."
"Invite him for dinner. I'll cook; let's arrange your wedding. He's the eldest son of one of Yrando's four richest families. If you marry him…"
"I know, Mom. I'll tell Archie. I'm meeting him at Darth Holdings soon anyway."
"Alright dear. Bye."
"Bye."
Thinking of Archie and Cameron, Madison felt hatred for the latter. She'd wasted five years on a weakling! If not for him, she'd be Mrs. Price! Enraged, she decided to discard everything belonging to Cameron. In the bedroom, she tossed his clothes to the floor. At the bottom, she found a wooden box. Inside were numerous love letters addressed to Cameron, from the daughter of Merricania's ex-president, Princess Iracebeth of Sunsettia… even the eldest daughter of the Jones family from Andura's capital, Leving! Madison was furious. She didn't believe the letters were genuine; Cameron must have fabricated them, harboring fantasies about these women throughout their marriage!
"That sick, filthy pervert!" she cursed, disgusted. She slammed the box to the floor, scattering the letters. A pink hair bow fell out.
"What…?" She picked it up, recognizing it instantly. It was the bow she and Dakota had bought as children, a token of their friendship. Why did Cameron have an identical one?
