Chapter 202
Under Dakota's excellent care, three days passed quickly. Late afternoon, Cameron sprang from bed, feeling completely restored. He clenched his fist, feeling strength surge through his body. He swiftly threw a punch.
Swish!
A gust of wind accompanied the punch. A long-lost, contented smile appeared on Cameron's face.
“Cameron, you’re up!” Dakota, concerned, watched him punch. She had just returned to the ward with some fruit, which she hurriedly set down before rushing over.
“Don’t worry, I’ve fully recovered,” Cameron said, smiling.
Dakota’s gaze trembled slightly. “You’re fully recovered?”
“Yeah, thanks to your care these past few days,” Cameron nodded warmly.
Dakota’s cheeks flushed. “Are you sure? You’re not lying?”
“Of course not. Want to feel it?” Cameron grinned, offering to show her.
“No need,” Dakota blushed. “Now that you’ve recovered, I’ll arrange your discharge. Wait here.”
“Okay, I’ll change,” Cameron said, heading to the bathroom.
About ten minutes later, Dakota returned with a female doctor, Tara. Tara giggled upon seeing Cameron.
“Hey there, handsome! I didn’t expect such a quick recovery. Three days, and you’re leaving!”
Cameron forced a smile. He had endured extra stitches because of her.
“What’s with that look, handsome? Last time was an accident. Blame your lack of willpower,” Tara smirked. Despite her words, she felt guilty. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have stayed away after his stitches burst, only appearing now. She had to see this “once-in-a-century” medical specimen.
Cameron chuckled. He would have settled the score if Dakota hadn’t been present.
“Hey, handsome, don’t be cold-hearted. I saved your life! Give me your number so we can keep in touch?” Tara, portraying vulnerability, held out her phone. She wouldn’t let go of such a rare find.
Dakota immediately intervened. “Dr. Smith, here’s my number. Cameron’s usually busy; contact me if needed.”
Tara’s lips curled slightly at Dakota’s vigilance. She sighed dramatically. “Ah, you have a girlfriend. What will Leny do…?”
Dakota frowned, looking at Cameron. “Cameron, who is Leny?” A strong feeling of unease surged in her heart. Had other women visited before her?
