“I exposed you?” Cameron frowned. “Madison, how long are you going to be so self-centered?”

“If you hadn't run to her and betrayed me, how would Ms. Jones know all this?” Madison glared at Cameron resentfully.

Laura’s icy voice interrupted, “I investigated it myself.”

Madison trembled. “You investigated it?”

Laura looked at Madison coldly. “So, do you have anything else to say?”

“I have nothing else to say, but I want a better life. What’s wrong with that?” Madison looked at Laura. Until this moment, she hadn’t thought she’d done anything wrong. How could someone like Cameron deserve her?

Laura’s voice was strong and commanding. “I am shutting you down. Is there a problem?”

Madison’s heart quivered, but she stubbornly retorted, “Ms. Jones, you’re suppressing me with your status, and I won’t accept it!”

Laura’s voice was exceptionally dominant and cold. “So what if you don’t accept it? I am suppressing you with my status. What can you do about it?”

Madison tried to argue, “Ms. Jones, you…”

Archie, losing his patience, slapped Madison hard across the face. “You idiot, shut up! You want to die, but I don’t! I don’t want to be dragged down by you!”

Madison, holding her burning cheek in disbelief, asked, “My dear, you… you actually hit me?”

Archie roared, “Yes, I hit you, you idiot! Are you trying to kill me?” He then knelt before Laura. “Ms. Jones, spare me. This has nothing to do with me. I didn’t say or do anything!”

Laura said coldly, “If you want me to spare you, then sever ties with her immediately.” She wanted Madison to experience the bitterness of abandonment and complete isolation.

Archie, like a drowning man grasping at a straw, regained hope. “No… no problem, Ms. Jones, I’ll cut ties with her right now!” He then shouted at Madison, “Madison, did you hear that? Get out of here now, and don’t show up in front of me again!”

“Archie, we are husband and wife…”

“What’s all that bullshit? Don’t talk nonsense. We didn’t even register our marriage!”

Madison’s heart trembled. “Have you forgotten? I arranged those business partners from the provincial capital for your sake…”

Archie, feeling guilty but still shouting, replied, “What business partners? Don’t make up stories. Just get out of here!” This was perfect timing for him, as he had just completed the handover with those provincial capital businesses. He’d initially planned to dismiss her after Laura announced him as the representative.

“Archie, you!” Madison didn’t expect this betrayal.

Archie’s tone was full of disgust. “What ‘Archie’? Get the hell out of here, as far as you can!”

Madison pleaded, “Dear, you can’t abandon me. I only have you now!” She reached for his arm, but he pushed her away fiercely. “Get lost, you disgust me. Who do you think you are? Do you think I’d marry a divorced woman?”

Madison fell to the ground, her makeup smudged from crying. The onlookers showed no sympathy; in their eyes, her plight was entirely self-inflicted. Dakota, though sympathetic, shook her head and didn’t intervene.

Laura ordered, “Security, get rid of this annoying woman and her family from the premises!”

“Yes, Ms. Jones!” Several security guards immediately dragged Madison’s family and the disgraced Archie out. The troublesome people were cleared from the venue. The banquet hall fell silent once more. All eyes were on Laura and Cameron, speculating about their relationship.
