Chapter 233
Cameron entered the room and approached Dakota. Madison shouted angrily, "I didn't let you in!"
Cameron expressionlessly slapped her hard across the face. The force was so strong that her mouth bled. Stunned, she stumbled and fell to the ground. After silencing her, Cameron walked toward Dakota without looking back. Dakota curled up, trembling.
Seeing him, she asked in confusion, "Cameron, is that you?"
"It's me."
Distressed by her condition, Cameron watched as Dakota burst into tears, throwing herself into his arms. "Cameron, I was so scared" she cried, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably. "Those two men almost violated me."
"It's okay. I'm here." He gently caressed her trembling body, his killing intent intensifying. Madison Parker! he thought, clenching his fists.
Madison, finally reacting to the slap, roared, "Cameron! Why did you hit me?"
"You asked me why?" A flash of anger appeared in his eyes. He told Dakota, "Wait for me," then turned to Madison with murderous intent. "Because you hurt Dakota!"
"So what if I hurt her? She deserved it!" Madison yelled, refusing to admit fault.
"She deserved it? Madison, how dare you!" Cameron gritted his teeth, his patience at its limit. He felt a strong urge to tear the woman apart.
"Did I say something wrong?" Madison challenged, saying sharply, "And what right do you have to hit me? Without you, I'd have nothing! You two are the reason I lost everything! You watched me walk into that grand ceremony, humiliated and banned by Ms. Jones! You knew everything and watched me make a fool of myself! So what's wrong with me treating Dakota like this?"
Cameron was furious. "I didn't expect you to have the audacity to say such things! How could you be so selfish and heartless?"
"Am I selfish? I'm telling the truth!" Madison argued. "My mother is still in a coma because of this! If it weren't for you, she wouldn't be like this!"
He sneered, "Isn't that your fault?"
She flushed with anger. "My fault? You teamed up with Dakota to deceive us! You knew there was something wrong with the ceremony!"
"We teamed up to deceive you? Madison, you're shameless!" Cameron asked angrily, "Haven't I repeatedly told you the ceremony wasn't for you? What was your attitude? Who abandoned you in the end? Who was trying to take everything from you? Archie! Why don't you go to him for revenge? You're not brave enough, are you? You're afraid of offending him because you can't afford to insult him! That's why you chose Dakota to vent your anger! You think she's easy to bully!"
His sarcasm silenced Madison. Usually eloquent, she couldn't argue; everything Cameron said was true.
