Chapter 33
"What do you want?" Cameron asked coldly.
"What's with that attitude, Cameron? I don't have time to argue. Dakota accidentally injured Lord Caspian of the Black Tiger Gang, and he's about to take her away. If you've got the guts, come to Room 206 at Star Sea Karaoke and help her!" Madison said into the phone.
"Dakota injured Lord Caspian?" Cameron frowned. "I'll be there in ten minutes," he said before hanging up.
His phone was almost dead—only 5% battery remaining—so, to ensure he could contact Madison or Dakota later, he turned it off.
On the other side, Madison and Caspian exchanged knowing glances. Caspian smirked. A few more minutes of waiting wouldn't change the outcome.
"Dakota, Cameron said he'd be here in ten minutes," Madison told Dakota.
"Madison, why would you do that?" Dakota panicked, quickly pulling out her phone to call Cameron and tell him not to come. His phone was off. Dakota's heart sank.
"What's wrong, Dakota?" Madison asked, noticing Dakota's expression.
"He…turned off his phone," Dakota replied.
"Heh, what a useless guy!" Madison scoffed. She'd genuinely believed Cameron would come, but he was all talk. Now, he'd even turned off his phone! Some people were just spineless!
"Beautiful, it seems your friend has no intention of coming," Caspian sneered. "If you come with me, I promise, with my status as Lord Caspian, no one in this town will harm a hair on your head."
Dakota remained silent, feeling relieved Cameron wasn't coming, yet also a sense of loss and a deep ache. This pain was far greater than the slap Caspian had given her. Cameron's phone was off. She wondered if she'd subconsciously started to think of him as her boyfriend. She scolded herself inwardly.
Watching Dakota's subdued mood, Madison saw her opportunity. A triumphant glint shone in her eyes. This was exactly what she wanted. With Cameron out of the picture, it was time for the next step of her plan—to let Caspian destroy Dakota. She signaled Caspian with her eyes. He understood, a wicked smile spreading across his face. He'd been waiting for this.
"Beautiful, come with me," Caspian said, rubbing his hands together excitedly as he approached Dakota.
Dakota shuddered but didn't resist; resistance was futile. Despair filled her eyes, her thoughts consumed by Cameron.
Caspian noticed her lack of resistance, a lecherous gleam in his eyes. But just as he was about to take her away, a loud bang echoed. The door burst open, and a figure entered. Dakota looked up, her eyes suddenly brightening.
