Chapter 68
"What's with that look, brat? And what did you say about me earlier? Who the hell do you think you are?" Florence, already short-tempered, instantly erupted at Cameron's glare.
Willie seized the opportunity. "Calm down, Aunt Florence. We don't need to stoop to their level," he said, then turned to Cameron with a mocking look. "I see you're finally speaking up for Dakota. But what were you doing just now? Is this how you deceive girls—by exploiting their emotional vulnerability and pretending to console them? That's low!"
"Are you done?" Cameron replied indifferently.
"You look pissed. You must feel humiliated. You're nothing but a coward" Willie began.
"If you're done, then shut up," Cameron interrupted.
Willie's eyes twitched with anger. How dare he talk to him like that! he thought. "If you're as capable as you say, then do something to help Dakota!" he sneered.
"You don't need to remind me. I will," Cameron said indifferently.
Willie chuckled disdainfully.
Florence could contain herself no longer. "Enough with the big talk! Show us some figures!" she yelled at Cameron.
"How much do you need?" Cameron raised an eyebrow.
"Two hundred million dollars! Do you even have that much?" Florence shrieked, holding up two fingers. Two hundred million dollars was the bare minimum; the Jennings Company's debt was far greater. However, Florence was merely trying to intimidate Cameron, believing a large, arbitrary figure would scare him off. Even twenty million dollars was astronomical for most, let alone someone like Cameron, who was unemployed.
"Dakota, does your family really owe that much money?" Cameron asked Dakota.
"Yes" Dakota replied shamefully, lowering her head.
"I see," Cameron said, taking out his phone.
Florence snorted. "Are you going to start acting again? Who are you planning to call and borrow money from? Listen carefully. We want two hundred million dollars! Not some measly two hundred dollars!"
Ignoring Florence, Cameron called Bobby. The call was quickly answered. "How may I help you, Mr. Morgan?" Bobby asked.
"Can you transfer two hundred million dollars to Dakota's bank account now?" Cameron requested.
"Of course! I can even transfer two billion dollars if you need me to!" Bobby replied hurriedly.
"Then transfer two hundred million dollars," Cameron ordered.
"No problem, Mr. Morgan. I'll arrange it right away," Bobby complied.
"Are you calling Mr. Kane?" Willie mocked.
"Are you with people, Mr. Morgan?" Bobby paused.
"Just some annoying fly," Cameron huffed indifferently.
"Who are you calling a fly? I see you like to show off! Well, I'm going to expose your lies now!" Willie snatched the phone.
Bobby frowned upon hearing the familiar voice. "Is that you, Willie Ziegler?"
Willie was taken aback, but a sneer quickly appeared. "That's a convincing act. Are you using a voice changer?"
Bobby hissed, "Willie Ziegler, I am your superior, Bobby Kane. Hurry up and explain your business with Mr. Morgan!" (The FindNovel.net advertisement has been removed.)
"Why should I explain myself? Who do you think you are? Do you think you can fool me with a voice changer? But I must admit, this is some good acting. You even prepared a voice changer! But I'm not surprised. How else would a liar like you come up with convincing lies? Did you use this tactic to deceive Dakota?" Willie continued, feeling triumphant at exposing Cameron's supposed lies.
