Olivia’s POV
“Really?” I asked, my voice trembling. “Because of this? This is why you three tormented my life for four fucking years? Because of this lie?” Tears welled, finally breaking free. I couldn't stop them, no matter how hard I tried.
It was agonizing to realize they had hated me all these years because of a letter I never wrote. Yes, the words were cruel, but how could they believe I wrote something like that? How could they think a fourteen-year-old girl would say such hurtful things to the people she worshipped? Did they ever truly know me? Did they ever pay attention?
I adored them, every single one. Yet, they believed I was capable of such vileness. Shouldn't they have asked me? Demanded the truth? But they didn't. They simply believed it, hated me, rejected me. They made me suffer for a crime I didn't commit.
Lennox stepped forward, his lips parted as if to speak, to plead, to explain. But before he could utter a word, the double doors burst open. Anita, still in her silky nightgown, hair disheveled, eyes wide with confusion and rage, was dragged in.
“Let go of me!” she screamed, struggling against the guards' firm grip.
The three brothers turned, like wolves cornering their prey. My jaw clenched, my heart pounding. I watched, anticipating their actions, expecting Levi or Lennox—perhaps even Louis—to act. But before they could, Alpha Damien stepped forward. His face was unreadable, his body unnervingly calm.
Anita turned to him, confused, but before she could speak…
CRACK!
The sound of his palm striking her cheek echoed like thunder. The room fell silent. I gasped, recoiling in shock. Even the triplets froze, their eyes wide as they stared at him. None of us saw it coming; none of us expected the silent man to erupt like that.
Anita stumbled, the guards barely steadying her. Alpha Damien’s voice, low but laced with fury, cut through the stunned silence. “How dare you sell her?”
Anita blinked, stunned. “W-what?”
His eyes blazed—sharp, wild, and filled with anger. “Don’t insult my intelligence by pretending you don’t know what I’m talking about.”
“I-I didn’t—” she began, but Damien raised a finger, silencing her with a single, chilling look. “If you lie to me,” he said, his voice as cold as ice, “I will not show the patience these three have shown you. I am not one of your Alphas. I am Alpha Damien of the Pearl Pack, and if you deny what I already know, I will rip your tongue out of your mouth myself.”
The color drained from her face. The suffocating silence stretched on.
“I conducted my investigation,” Damien continued. “I spoke to the traffickers. The one who held Olivia… said a woman paid to have her disappear, to make it look like a rogue kidnapping, ensuring she never returned alive.”
Anita trembled, her eyes darting between the brothers. The smugness was gone, replaced by fear. My hands shook; tears flowed freely—not from pain, but from the overwhelming feeling of being defended by this man I barely knew.
Anita’s mouth opened, but no words came.
“You will speak,” he said darkly, “but only when we tell you to. Or I swear to the goddess, Anita, I will make you regret the day you ever set foot in this pack.” For the first time, Anita looked genuinely afraid.
Alpha Damien turned to the triplets, his gaze heavy with disappointment. “I’m ashamed of all three of you,” he said. “Olivia was your wife. Your mate. And you treated her like this… because of a fucking letter! A letter anyone could have written!”
Lennox stepped forward, his face etched with a frown. “Uncle…”
“Damien,” Alpha Damien corrected sharply. He clearly disliked being called "uncle."
Lennox lowered his head. “We were confused… the letter destroyed us. It turned us into something we’re not.”
Damien scoffed. “No, Lennox. The letter didn’t destroy you. You destroyed yourselves the moment you chose to believe it without question. You let your pride eclipse your hearts. You let her suffer—for years.”
None of them spoke. Louis looked pale; Levi’s hands were clenched; Lennox seemed ready to collapse under the weight of his shame.
“Take her to the dungeon,” Levi snapped, his anger turning toward Anita. “Lock her up and bind her. Now!”
Two guards immediately stepped forward, their grip tightening on Anita. But she threw back her head and laughed bitterly.
“You can’t lock me up,” she said, a twisted smile playing on her lips. “You wouldn’t dare.”
The brothers growled, their wolfish natures threatening to take over.
“Really?” she said, glaring at them. “Are you really going to throw me in a dungeon while I’m still carrying your children?”
The room froze. My breath hitched.
“What?” Louis asked, his frown deepening.
“You lost the pregnancy,” Levi growled, stepping closer. “You told us weeks ago.”
Anita blinked dramatically, her expression softening into a wounded innocence. “Yes… I did. I lost one. But two days ago, I felt sick. The healer examined me… there are still two pups.”
“No…” Levi shook his head, his voice almost a plea. “You said—”
“I wanted to surprise you,” she said quickly. “I wanted it to be special… after everything. I just needed time.”
A suffocating silence followed. I stared at her, unsure of what to feel. Anita was still pregnant? She only lost one pup? How was that possible?
“So?” she continued, lifting her chin. “Will you throw me in a dungeon while your children grow inside me?”
The triplets remained motionless. No one moved.
