Chapter 110

โ€œIโ€™m on my way to Cloudridge Valley. Youโ€™d better tell your man to get lost,โ€ Chris said.

Stephanie smirked. โ€œYou still have the nerve to go to Cloudridge Valley? Is your hand even healed yet?โ€ The air on the other end of the call instantly grew tense.

Chris glanced down at his cast-wrapped arm. His grip on the phone tightened as he gritted his teeth. โ€œYouโ€”โ€

Stephanie laughed. โ€œAre you fighting for Oliviaโ€™s honor? Youโ€™re only setting yourself up for disappointment. Be careful; you donโ€™t want to cross the wrong man.โ€

โ€œStephanie!โ€ Chris snapped, his voice furious. The line went dead.

The beeping tone fueled his rage. He threw his phone against the dashboard with a growl. Heโ€™d never been so humiliated. No one in Long Harbor dared provoke him like this.

โ€œIf you donโ€™t find out who that man is by tonight, donโ€™t bother showing up tomorrow,โ€ Chris barked.

Kevin, driving, nearly jumped. Cold sweat broke out on his back. He still hadnโ€™t found any information on the man. But Chris desperately needed answers. This mysterious figure had appeared in Long Harbor seemingly out of nowhere. Who is this guy? And why is Stephanie involved? The thought sent Chrisโ€™s fury soaring.

He lit a cigarette and took a deep, aggressive drag. โ€œI donโ€™t care what it takes. Bring in Zane if you have to.โ€

Kevinโ€™s hands tightened on the wheel. He hadnโ€™t expected Chris to involve Zane. This meant he had to find the manโ€™s identity immediately.

โ€œUnderstood,โ€ Kevin replied, nodding firmly.

Just as Stephanie hung up on Chris, her phone rangโ€”Tyler. She answered. Itโ€™s time I put them back in their place, she thought.

Tyler, like Chris, lacked patience for pleasantries. โ€œWho bailed you out?โ€

Stephanieโ€™s voice was smug and taunting. โ€œDoes it matter? At least it wasnโ€™t you, dear brother.โ€

Her mocking words mirrored those to Chris. Tyler, like Chris, found her tone unbearable. His chest tightened.

Fighting to keep his temper in check, Tyler said, โ€œStephanie, youโ€™re part of the Hart family. Who gave you permission to disgrace us like this?โ€

โ€œWhat exactly did I do?โ€ Stephanie asked, her tone lazy and indifferent.

โ€œWho is that man? The one youโ€™re with?โ€ Tyler demanded.

โ€œHeโ€™s the man I like. The man I love,โ€ Stephanie said, her voice unwavering.

As she spoke, Sebastian entered, hearing her words. His hand, gripping the doorknob, stiffened. Stephanie was caught off guard. Her heart stuttered, her chest tightening. Their eyes met. His deep, unreadable gaze pierced hers. Heat rushed to her face, her cheeks flushing. Subconsciously, her eyes flickered away in guilt.

Tylerโ€™s fury erupted. โ€œThe man you love? You just broke off your engagement with Chris! Do you have no shame, Stephanie?โ€ He couldnโ€™t believe sheโ€™d claimed to love another man so soon.

Sebastian, seeing the call, quietly left, closing the door. Stephanieโ€™s hesitation vanished. Her fighting spirit returned.

โ€œShame?โ€ she scoffed. โ€œYou got a woman pregnant, refused to marry her, and still kept things murky with Lilian. You of all people are lecturing me about shame?โ€
