Chapter 215

Mayra gritted her teeth. That man actually pushed me!

โ€œWell, well, Stephanie Giovanni,โ€ she sneered. โ€œNo wonder youโ€™ve been so bold about breaking off your engagement with Chris. I guess you found someone else. Playing the heartbroken lover now?โ€

Although the man with Stephanie possessed an imposing presence, Mayra had never seen him in Long Harbor. He couldn't be anyone important. Besides, who would want someone like Stephanie? Mayra was certain Stephanie had settled for a low-tier guy.

Sebastian's eyes narrowed as Macro finally recognized Mayra. His expression soured. Only then did Mayra notice Macro. Her fiery attitude vanished, replaced by red-rimmed eyes. โ€œMacro, where have you been?โ€ she exclaimed. Stephanie blinked. Sebastian's face remained impassive. Both men turned to Macro at Mayra's voice.

Macro's expression darkened. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€ he snapped.

Mayra pouted. โ€œTheyโ€™re bullying me.โ€

Stephanie rolled her eyes. No surprise, just like Oliviaโ€”always acting.

โ€œYouโ€™re supposed to help me,โ€ Mayra said, reaching for Macroโ€™s hand. He deftly avoided her touch. He had no interest in getting involved.

Mayra's eyes narrowed. โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€

Macro gave her a sharp look. โ€œWhatโ€™s your deal? I saw everything.โ€

The matchmaking service really didn't do him any favors. Was she a troublemaker? They don't even know each other well. What is she acting for? He hadn't been impressed by her from the start, especially after their near-altercation earlier. Seeing her almost start a fight with Stephanie only confirmed his initial impression.

Macro glanced at Stephanie, still in Sebastianโ€™s arms. โ€œYou didnโ€™t get hurt, did you?โ€ Stephanie shook her head. โ€œNo.โ€

Sebastianโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€œYou should really get your eyes checked,โ€ he added coldly, then turned and walked away with Stephanie.

Macro frowned at Sebastian's remark. Was he implying he hadnโ€™t seen clearly? โ€œHey, I wasnโ€™t the one pickingโ€ฆโ€ he muttered. He was on a blind date. Who has perfect vision on a first meeting?

He hurried to catch up, but Mayra grabbed his arm. โ€œMacro.โ€

He turned, his expression colder than during their coffee date. Mayra took a deep breath. โ€œSo, you and Stephanie?โ€

Macro raised an eyebrow. โ€œWhat? Accusing her of seducing me and trying to ruin our relationship?โ€

Mayra froze.

Macro shook his head. โ€œYou women. Do you all have one-track minds?โ€

Mayra froze. Macro gave her a cold look. โ€œThatโ€™s enough. Donโ€™t contact me again.โ€

He left, leaving Mayra speechless. His parting words felt like a blow. Despite their first meeting, sheโ€™d liked Macro. He was attractive, successful, and, most importantly, the top cardiologist Olivia needed. Sheโ€™d hoped to get close to him, to convince him to join Oliviaโ€™s treatment team. She'd been worried about Olivia, especially after the repeated specialist changes. Now, her chance with Macro seemed lost.

โ€œStephanie Giovanni!โ€ she muttered angrily. If it werenโ€™t for her, I wouldnโ€™t have lost my chance with Macro so soon.

Meanwhile, Macro caught up with them, but by the time he reached the hot spring, Sebastian and Stephanie were already soaking. As he approached, Sebastianโ€™s cold voice cut through the air. โ€œDonโ€™t get in.โ€

Macro stopped. โ€œWhat? Why not?โ€ The shore was freezing. He just wanted to relax like everyone else.
