Chapter 272
Sebastian cast her a sidelong glance and touched her forehead. The fever had gone down. His gaze was warm. โWhat could I possibly be hiding from you?โ
โWas it you who did that to Olivia?โ Stephanie asked.
Olivia had been thrown out of the hospital overnight. There was no doubt it was Sebastianโs doing.
Sebastian pulled her into his arms in one swift motion. Stephanie lost her balance and ended up straddling his lap.
โHiss!โ She sucked in a sharp breath. The pain was unbearable, like a numbing ache radiating through her body.
Sebastian noticed how her face scrunched up in discomfort. โHurts again?โ
โBe gentler,โ Stephanie said. โIt really hurts.โ
โSorry, I forgot,โ Sebastian said.
Stephanie froze. Hearing him say he forgot sent a chill down her spine. Why would he forget?
โYou canโt forget,โ she said firmly.
Luckily, he hadnโt forgotten about last night. Otherwise, she would have felt completely wronged with no one to take responsibility for what had happened.
Sebastian massaged her legs. โDoes it hurt here?โ
โItโs really sore,โ Stephanie said. At this point, her legs barely felt like they belonged to her.
Sebastian continued massaging gently. โYouโre so delicate.โ
Stephanie pouted.
Sebastian arched a brow. โYou havenโt been working out all these years?โ
Hearing that, Stephanie suddenly felt a little guilty. Sebastian made it a rule to ensure a minimum amount of exercise every day. Ever since she left Fiorenza, she had been living in complete disregard for discipline.
โYou havenโt?โ he repeated.
Stephanie, feeling guilty, gave a small nod.
โOnce youโve recovered, youโll run for an hour every day,โ Sebastian said.
Stephanie groaned internally. โAn hour? He might as well kill me now,โ she wondered.
โSo it really was you who did that to Olivia?โ she asked again.
โLast night, Elliot met with the driver who hit you two years ago. I donโt know what was said,โ Sebastian replied.
Stephanie didnโt believe that for a second. Of course, he knew.
Sebastian smirked. โWhatโs the matter, Stefi? Are you feeling sorry for her?โ
โDo you think thatโs even possible?โ Stephanie rolled her eyes.
She would never feel sorry for Olivia. The only people who could ever touch her heart were members of the Giovanni family. No one else had ever made it in.
Sebastian let out a low chuckle.
Stephanie said, โNow that sheโs panicking, sheโll probably try to go abroad for treatment, right?โ
โShe wonโt be able to,โ Sebastian said.
Stephanieโs eyes widened in shock. Sebastian remained as gentlemanly and composed as ever, but his words were nothing short of a death sentence.
โYouโre trapping her until her death?โ Stephanie asked.
When Olivia stayed in Long Harbor, she wouldnโt be able to find a doctor willing to treat her. If she realized she couldnโt even leave Long Harbor, she would fall into complete despair.
Sebastian stayed with Stephanie for a while before leaving. Before he left, he even made sure she drank some cold medicine.
As soon as Stephanie burrowed back into her blankets, her phone vibrated. She glanced at the caller ID, and her heart skipped a beat. Without hesitation, she answered and pressed the phone to her ear. โHello, Sofia?โ she called out.
The moment Stephanie finished speaking, Sofiaโs furious roar came through the phone. โBe at the airport in three hours to pick me up.โ
Stephanieโs heart skipped a beat. โYโyouโre in Long Harbor?โ
โThis is bad. If she sees me covered in injuries, what am I supposed to say? Should I tell her I got bitten by bugs? Or that I fell?โ she wondered.
Sofiaโs tone was full of fire. โHmph! Just wait till I get my hands on you. Youโre pretty good at running, huh? Iโve spent the past two years flipping the world upside down looking for you! Even Sebastian managed to find you, and you still dared to play hide-and-seek?โ
Just the thought of searching for Stephanie made Sofia furious. Over the past two years, she had people scouring every corner of the globe, yet Stephanie remained nowhere to be found. Now, Sebastian had been in Long Harbor for a while and managed to track her down. Sofia had asked him for Stephanieโs number, but he refused to give it to her. That alone had nearly driven her up the wall. In the end, she had to go through all sorts of trouble just to get it herself. Right now, all she wanted was to give Stephanie a good beating.
Hearing Sofia say she was going to deal with her made Stephanieโs heart tremble again. โWhere are you right now?โ
Sheโll be in Long Harbor in three hours? That means sheโs already left Fiorenza? Stephanie shivered at the thought.
Sofia sneered. โWhy? You planning to warn Sebastian? If you dare tell him I ran off, youโre finished.โ
Stephanie froze. She was so scared.
โI should be there in about three hours,โ Sofia continued. โI expect to see you the moment I step off that plane.โ
This threat was eerily similar to what Sebastian had said when he came to Long Harbor last time. No surprise, they were siblings. Even the way they intimidated people carried the same level of danger.
Stephanie rolled around in bed in distress. โSo you really left Fiorenza?โ
Sofia scoffed. โYou seriously thinking about warning Sebastian? Better watch yourself, or Iโll break your legs.โ
