Chapter 286

Sebastian stayed with Stephanie for a while before leaving. Not long after, the maid knocked on the door, and Stephanie shouted, “Come in.”

The maid pushed the door open. “Miss, there is a Mr. Hart here to see you.”

Stephanie didn’t say anything.

“Mr. Hart?”

“Young or old?”

Young. So it was Tyler.

Thinking back to what Chad had said yesterday at Mount Spring—that he would satisfy her every need—how funny. Did they really think she cared about what they had? The problem was never the uneven distribution of resources. She didn’t care how much they favored Olivia or how coldly they treated her. What was happening now had nothing to do with whether they were good parents or a good brother to Stephanie.

The servant saw that Stephanie didn’t say anything and asked respectfully, “Should I let him in?”

“Yes, of course.” In this relationship, she was never the one who should shy away.

Tyler was waiting at the gate and didn’t let him into Whispering Bay at all. This made him even angrier. “This ungrateful wretch! I am her brother after all, and this is how she treats me.”

Tyler said angrily to Chris. In the past, Tyler at least maintained his gentlemanly demeanor. That was because he was so highly respected in Long Harbor, and for so many years, although the Hart family was not as good as the Ashford family, no one had ever dared to treat him like this, not even letting him in.

Chris frowned at Tyler’s complaint, but said nothing. Actually, the entire Hart family had never been worth a dime in Stephanie’s mind.

When Stephanie came over, she heard Tyler still complaining. “She actually wanted Olivia’s life and wanted to trap Olivia in this Long Harbor. How could she be so vicious?”

The more he talked, the angrier Tyler became. He hadn’t slept a wink last night, busy trying to get Olivia out, but no matter what he tried, he couldn’t. Chris also had a rough night dealing with this. Now, there was no country they could go to.

Seeing that Chris remained silent, Tyler said, “Chris, you have to think of something. If this drags on, Olivia will really be dragged to death.”

“She needs chemotherapy now. If her medication is suddenly cut off, isn’t that going to kill her?”

Chris clenched one hand into a fist, the other still in a cast. “Olivia’s medicine will run out today.”

“The hospital only gave her two days’ worth of oral medication, which wasn’t very effective in the first place. Now, even the oral medication is gone.”

Chris’s face grew darker and darker.

“Stop it,” he muttered. This is Shallow Bay Area after all, and everyone here works for Mr. Giovanni.

Tyler was fuming. “That vicious Stephanie! I’m going to pretend she doesn’t exist. We’ll see what she’s got when the Giovanni family gets sick of her!”

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Now Tyler just hoped that Stefi would be abandoned by the Giovanni family. Let’s see how he would trample on her then.

Stefi turned around and appeared at the gate. “I’m afraid you won’t live to see that day.”

Tyler stood there, speechless, while the accusations just kept coming. Chris was speechless. Seeing Stefi’s sudden appearance, both Chris and Tyler felt an inexplicable shiver in their hearts. Tyler’s face stiffened. Meeting Stefi’s gaze, he turned away, suppressing his rage.

However, the moment he opened his mouth, his tone was unkind. “What on earth do you want? After causing such a scene, what is it that you want?”

Tyler was completely frantic. At that moment, he hoped that Stephanie would make some demands. As long as there were conditions, everything would be negotiable.

Stephanie crossed her arms, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips. “Is this your attitude when you are asking for a favor? Seems like Olivia doesn’t hold that much weight in your heart after all.”

Tyler said, “You…”

Stephanie continued, “Right, before this, Olivia made a bet with me on whether she would be able to move into Shallow Bay Area. The stakes were 300 thousand dollars.”

“As her brother, and admirer, who among you will be paying up?” she asked.

Tyler’s already unpleasant expression turned even uglier at Stephanie’s mention of money. His face turned completely pale. “You still have the nerve to ask for money? Look at what you have done to her! And you still want money?”

How could I encounter such a shameless person? Tyler was so angry. Stephanie didn’t say a word. She just stared at him, calm and steady.

Chris glared at her coldly. “I’ll pay.”
